Package having releaseably secured consumable products

Abstract

The present invention provides an improved product holding and dispensing package and an improved method for manufacturing, holding and storing products, especially consumable products. In an embodiment, a package for a consumable product is provided. The package includes a housing. A sheet is disposed inside the housing. A number of consumable products releaseably attach or adhere to the sheet. The products are configured within the housing so that a consumer can grasp and remove at least one of the consumable products from the sheet and the housing. In an embodiment, the sheet is attached to the housing and the products adhere to the sheet via a heat activated adhesive.

       18 . A package for a consumable product comprising: 
 a housing having a pair of opposing walls; and    an adhesive area disposed on an inner surface of at least one of the opposing walls, the consumable product releasably adhered to the adhesive area of the housing.    
   
   
       19 . The package of  claim 18 , wherein the adhesive area is heat activated to adhere the consumable product to the adhesive area of the housing.  
   
   
       20 . The package of  claim 18 , wherein the adhesive area is a wax area disposed to the inner surface of the at least one wall, the wax area heat activated to adhere the consumable product to one of the walls.

       25 . The package of  claim 18 , wherein the adhesive area is disposed on an inner surface of both of the opposing walls.  
   
   
       26 . A package for housing consumable products comprising: 
 a housing including a plurality of walls that define an opening and a lid hingedly connected to one of the walls, the lid adapted to cover the opening; and    a plurality of consumable products releaseably attached to a portion of the interior of the housing, the products configured within the housing so that a consumer can grasp and remove at least one of the consumable products from the housing.    
   
   
       27 . The package of  claim 26 , wherein the housing includes a plurality of walls that define an opening and one of the walls defines a cutout that assists the consumer in grasping and removing the at least one product.  
   
   
       28 . The package of  claim 26 , wherein the housing includes a plurality of adhesive areas and the consumable products releaseably adheres to at least one of the adhesive areas.  
   
   
       29 . A package for housing consumable products comprising: 
 a housing including a plurality of walls, an opening, and a flap having a portion that can be removably received by an outer wall of the housing; and    a plurality of consumable products releaseably attached to an inner wall of the package, the products configured within the housing so that a consumer can grasp and remove at least one of the consumable products from the inner wall and the housing, wherein the inner wall includes an adhesive area and the consumable products releaseably adhere to the adhesive area of the inner wall.    
   
   
       30 . The package of  claim 29 , wherein the inner wall includes a plurality of wax areas and the consumable products releaseably adhere to the wax.  
   
   
       31 . The package of  claim 29 , wherein a wall of the housing includes a cut-out portion.  
   
   
       32 . The package of  claim 29 , wherein the portion of the flap that is removably received is located at a bottom of the flap.  
   
   
       33 . The package of  claim 29 , wherein the outer wall includes a slit for receiving the portion of the flap.  
   
   
       34 . The package of  claim 29 , wherein the products are individually contained in wrappers, the wrappers are releaseably attached to the inner wall.  
   
   
       35 . A package housing consumable products comprising: 
 a plurality of wrappers individually enclosing a plurality of consumable products, the wrappers releaseably adhered to an interior of a housing; and    the housing including a flap and an outer wall including a slit for receiving a portion of the flap.    
   
   
       36 . The package of  claim 35 , wherein the products are confectionery products.  
   
   
       37 . The package of  claim 35 , wherein the products are gum.  
   
   
       38 . A package for a consumable product comprising: 
 a housing having a plurality of walls;    an adhesive area disposed on an inner surface of at least one of the walls, the consumable product releaseably adhered to the adhesive area of the housing;    one of the walls including a cut-out portion; and    a flap that can be releasably received in a slit on an outer wall of the housing.    
   
   
       39 . The package of  claim 38 , wherein the adhesive area is heat activated to adhere the consumable product to the adhesive area of the housing.  
   
   
       40 . The package of  claim 38 , wherein the adhesive area is a wax area disposed to the inner surface of the at least one wall, the wax area heat activated to adhere the consumable product to one of the walls.  
   
   
       41 . A package for a consumable product comprising: 
 a housing having a first and a second opposing wall and a plurality of wrapped products located between the walls, the first wall having portions that have a length that is less than the length of the product and the length of the second wall; and    a flap that can be received in a slit in the housing.
