Claims

Abstract

A method for covering a flower pot with a sheet of material or a pot cover. At least a portion of a sheet of material, or the inner surface of the pot cover and/or the outer surface of the flower pot is provided with a bonding material such that upon wrapping the sheet of material about the outer surface of the flower pot or placing the flower pot in an interior space of the pot cover, the flower pot is secured to the sheet of material wrapped thereabout or the pot cover via the bonding material.

1 . A method for covering a flower pot, comprising the steps of: 
 providing a roll of material;    cutting the roll of material to provide a sheet of material;    passing at least a portion of the sheet of material through a bonding material applicator to provide a bonding material on at least a portion of the sheet of material;    forming the sheet of material into a pot cover having an outer surface, an inner surface and an interior space;    providing a flower pot having an outer surface; and    placing the flower pot into the interior space of the pot cover wherein the pot cover is secured to at least a portion of the outer surface of the flower pot via the bonding material.    
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein, in the step of forming the sheet of material into a pot cover, the pot cover comprises a base.  
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1  wherein, in the step of forming the sheet of material into a pot cover, the pot cover comprises a skirt.  
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the bonding material is selected from the group consisting of an adhesive, a cohesive and combinations thereof.  
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the bonding material has a backing or release strip disposed thereon.  
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1  wherein, in the step of forming the sheet of material into a pot cover, the pot cover has a bottom.  
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1  wherein, in the step of forming the sheet of material into a pot cover, the pot cover is shape-sustaining.  
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1  wherein, in the step of providing a roll of material, the roll of material is formed of a material selected from the group consisting of paper, cellophane, foil, polymer film, woven fabric, nonwoven fabric, synthetic fabric, natural fabric, burlap and combinations thereof.  
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1  wherein, in the step of placing the flower pot into the interior space of the pot cover, the flower pot has a bottom and the pot cover is disposed about the flower pot so as to cover the bottom and at least a portion of the outer surface of the flower pot.  
     
     
         10 . A method for covering a flower pot, comprising the steps of: 
 providing a roll of material;    unrolling a portion of the roll of material to provide an unrolled portion;    cutting the unrolled portion of the roll of material to provide a sheet of material;    applying an adhesive to the sheet of material;    forming the sheet of material into a pot cover having an outer surface, an inner surface and an interior space;    providing a flower pot having an outer surface;    providing a bonding material on at least a portion of at least one of the inner surface of the pot cover and the outer surface of the flower pot; and    placing the flower pot into the interior space of the pot cover wherein the pot cover is secured to at least a portion of the outer surface of the flower pot via the bonding material.    
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 10  wherein, in the step of forming the sheet of material into a pot cover, the pot cover comprises a base.  
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 10  wherein, in the step of forming the sheet of material into a pot cover, the pot cover comprises a skirt.  
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 10  wherein the bonding material is selected from the group consisting of an adhesive, a cohesive and combinations thereof.  
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 10  wherein the bonding material has a backing or release strip disposed thereon.  
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 10  wherein, in the step of forming the sheet of material into a pot cover, the pot cover has a bottom.  
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 10  wherein, in the step of forming the sheet of material into a pot cover, the pot cover is shape-sustaining.

The method of  claim 10  wherein, in the step of providing a roll of material, the roll of material is formed of a material selected from the group consisting of paper, cellophane, foil, polymer film, woven fabric, nonwoven fabric, synthetic fabric, natural fabric, burlap and combinations thereof.

The method of  claim 10  wherein, in the step of placing the flower pot into the interior space of the pot cover, the flower pot has a bottom and the pot cover is disposed about the flower pot so as to cover the bottom and at least a portion of the outer surface of the flower pot.  
     
     
         19 . A method for covering a flower pot, comprising the steps of: 
 providing a pot cover having an outer surface, an inner surface and an interior space;    providing a flower pot having an inner surface and an outer surface;    providing a bonding material on at least a portion of at least one of the inner surface and the outer surface of the flower pot; and    placing the flower pot into the interior space of the pot cover wherein the pot cover is secured to at least a portion of the flower pot via the bonding material.    
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 19  wherein, in the step of providing a pot cover, the pot cover comprises a base.  
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 19  wherein, in the step of providing a pot cover, the pot cover comprises a skirt.  
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 19  wherein the bonding material is selected from the group consisting of an adhesive, a cohesive and combinations thereof.  
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 19  wherein the bonding material has a backing or release strip disposed thereon.  
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 19  wherein, in the step of providing a pot cover, the pot cover has a bottom.  
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 19  wherein, in the step of providing the pot cover, the pot cover is shape-sustaining.

The method of  claim 19  wherein, in the step of providing the pot cover, the pot cover is formed of a material selected from the group consisting of paper, cellophane, foil, polymer film, woven fabric, nonwoven fabric, synthetic fabric, natural fabric, burlap and combinations thereof.  
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 19  wherein, in the step of providing a flower pot, the flower pot has a bottom and the pot cover is disposed about the flower pot so as to cover the bottom and at least a portion of the outer surface of the flower pot.
