Abstract

Moisture barrier resins comprising a film-forming, cross-linkable, partially hydrolyzed polymer and a cross-linking agent provide improved impermeability to moisture and extended release capabilities for various particles, substances and other core materials that are encapsulated with compositions which contain these resins.

         26 . A substrate coated with a moisture-barrier resin comprising a mixture of: 
 (a) a film-forming, cross-linkable, partially hydrolyzed polymer; and    (b) a cross-linking agent;    wherein the polymer is hydrolyzed from about 44 to about 46 percent.    
     
     
         27 . A coated substrate according to  claim 26 , wherein the substrate comprises a pharmaceutical.
