Abstract
The invention relates to a means for weaning people off smoking or alcohol, said means containing alpha-Ketoglutaric acid and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural, preferably in a mass ratio of between 2:1 and 12:1. Preferably, said means is in the form of a drink containing the following constituents per litre: between 4 and 8 g of alpha-Keloglutaric acid; between 0.2 and 0.6 g of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural; between 20 and 40 g of saccharose; between 2.5 and 5 g of sodium carbonate; between 0.3 and 0.8 g of sorbic acid; and optionally up to 0.5 g of citric acid. The pH value is equal to between 4 and 5.

3 . A beverage characterized in that it contains the following components per liter:
4-8 g alpha-ketoglutaric acid 0.2-0.6 g 5-hydroxymethylfurfural 20-40 g saccharose 2.5-5 g sodium bicarbonate 0.3-0.8 g sorbic acid optionally up to 0.5 g citric acid.
