Canister holder and decorating method

Abstract

A decorating component has a side portion. The side portion of the decorating component has a major dimension. The decorating component is adapted to receive a container having a side portion having a major dimension. The major dimension of the side portion of the decorating component is greater than the major dimension of the side portion of the container.

1 . A decorating component having a side portion, the side portion of the decorating component having a major dimension, 
 wherein the decorating component is adapted to receive a container having a side portion having a major dimension, the major dimension of the side portion of the decorating component being greater than the major dimension of the side portion of the container.    
   
   
       2 . The decorating component of  claim 1  wherein the decorating component is generally cylindrical.  
   
   
       3 . The decorating component of  claim 1  wherein the decorating component has a base portion.  
   
   
       4 . The decorating component of  claim 3  wherein the base portion is generally round.

The decorating component of  claim 1  wherein the ratio of the difference between the major dimension of the side portion of the decorating component and the major dimension of the side portion of the container, and the major dimension of the side portion of the decorating component, is within the range of from about 1:8 to 1:14.  
   
   
       6 . The decorating component of  claim 5  wherein the ratio is about 1:12.  
   
   
       7 . The decorating component of  claim 5  wherein the decorating component is generally cylindrical.  
   
   
       8 . The decorating component of  claim 5  wherein the decorating component has a base portion.  
   
   
       9 . The decorating component of  claim 8  wherein the base portion is generally round.  
   
   
       10 . The decorating component of  claim 8  wherein the base portion is angular.  
   
   
       11 . A method of decorating an environment comprising: 
 providing a container having a side portion with a major dimension;    providing a canister having a side portion with a major dimension greater than the major dimension of the container; and    placing the container in the canister.    
   
   
       12 . The decorating component of  claim 11  wherein the decorating component is generally cylindrical.  
   
   
       13 . The method of  claim 11  wherein the decorating component has a base portion.  
   
   
       14 . The method of  claim 13  wherein the base portion is generally round.

The decorating component of  claim 1  wherein the ratio of the difference between the major dimension of the side portion of the decorating component and the major dimension of the side portion of the container, and the major dimension of the side portion of the decorating component, is within the range of from about 1:8 to 1:14.  
   
   
       16 . The decorating component of  claim 15  wherein the ratio is about 1:12.  
   
   
       17 . The decorating component of  claim 15  wherein the decorating component is generally cylindrical.
