Cassette assembly

Abstract

A cassette for a sterilizer has one or more cells containing a sterilant, is received within a sleeve and the sleeve carries a bar code which is encoded with a lumen claim. The lumen claim relates to a sterilization cycle for which the cassette is designed.

1 . A cassette assembly for a sterilizer, the cassette assembly comprising: 
 a body having one or more cells, at least one of the one or more cells containing a quantity of liquid sterilant;    a sleeve receiving the body; and    a bar code on the sleeve, the bar code having encoded therein a lumen claim.    
   
   
       2 . A cassette assembly according to  claim 1  wherein the bar code has encoded therein an identifier for a type or model of sterilizer to which the lumen claim is related.  
   
   
       3 . A cassette assembly according to  claim 1  wherein the sterilant comprises hydrogen peroxide solution.  
   
   
       4 . A cassette assembly according to  claim 1  wherein the lumen claim specifies a length and internal diameter of a lumen.  
   
   
       5 . A cassette assembly according to  claim 4  wherein the lumen claim specifies a material from which the lumen is constructed.  
   
   
       6 . A cassette assembly according to  claim 1  wherein the bar code has encoded therein a length and an internal diameter for the lumen claim.  
   
   
       7 . A cassette assembly according to  claim 6  wherein the bar code has encoded therein a material for the lumen claim.  
   
   
       8 . A cassette assembly according to  claim 1  wherein the bar code is on a label attached to the sleeve.  
   
   
       9 . A cassette assembly according to  claim 1  wherein the bar code is printed on the sleeve.  
   
   
       10 . A cassette assembly according to  claim 1  comprising a plurality of the cells.
