Personalized prescription drug compliance kit

Abstract

A personalized prescription drug compliance kit is provided that allows the practice of dispensing samples of prescription drugs with personalized information relating to the prescribing doctor and his relevant contact information, as well as patient specific information, such as emergency information, drug dosage and interactions, and the like. The specific personalized information is provided for on a portable pillbox that may be carried at all times by the patient. Packaged samples of the drug to be prescribed are affixed to an informational backing card, along with the personalized information printed on a portable pillbox for convenient customization and distribution at a prescribing doctor's office.

1 . A personalized prescription drug compliance kit comprising: 
 an informational backing portion;    a portable pill box attached to said informational backing portion; and    a personalized information identifier affixed to said portable pillbox.    
   
   
       2 . The personalized prescription drug compliance kit as recited in  claim 1  wherein the personalized information identifier affixed to said portable pillbox comprises emergency information printed on a label.  
   
   
       3 . The personalized prescription drug compliance kit as recited in  claim 2  wherein the emergency information comprises at least the name and emergency contact information of the prescribing doctor.  
   
   
       4 . The personalized prescription drug compliance kit as recited in  claim 3  wherein the emergency information comprises at least the name of at least one prescription drug to be stored with the portable pill box, the dosage for proper administration of the prescription drug, and additional emergency condition information for rescuers.  
   
   
       5 . The personalized prescription drug compliance kit as recited in  claim 4  wherein the information backing portion is formed from a substantially stiff packaging product that is imprinted with desired prescription drug information.  
   
   
       6 . The personalized prescription drug compliance kit as recited in  claim 5  wherein the information backing portion has at least one packaged sample of a desired prescription drug sample affixed to it.  
   
   
       7 . A method of providing personalized prescription drug samples, said method comprising the steps of: 
 (a) printing an informational backing;    (b) attaching a portable pill box to said informational backing portion; and    (c) applying personalized identifying information to said portable pill box.    
   
   
       8 . The method of providing personalized prescription drug samples as described in  claim 7 , said method further comprising the steps of providing emergency information when applying said personalized identifying information to said portable pill box.  
   
   
       9 . The method of providing personalized prescription drug samples as described in  claim 8 , said method of providing emergency information further comprising the steps of printing at least a prescribing doctor's name and practice information.

The method of providing personalized prescription drug samples as described in  claim 9 , said method of providing emergency information further comprising the steps of printing at least the name of one prescription drug to be stored with the portable pill box, the dosage for proper administration of the prescription drug, and additional emergency condition information for rescuers.  
   
   
       11 . The method of providing personalized prescription drug samples as described in  claim 10 , said method further comprising the steps of printing desired prescription drug information on a substantially stiff packaging product.  
   
   
       12 . The method of providing personalized prescription drug samples as described in  claim 11 , said method further comprising the steps of affixing at least one packaged sample of a desired prescription drug to said information backing portion.
