Abstract

A paper tissue such as a facial tissue or a disposable handkerchief and a method for making a tissue paper product from a tissue paper web. The method comprises the steps of passing the tissue paper web through an embossing nip formed between a first and a second embossing roll, wherein at least one of the embossing rolls comprises at least 30 embossing elements per square centimeter; and passing the tissue paper web through a calendering nip formed between a first and a second calendering roll, wherein the first and the second calendering roll are in contact with the tissue paper web over a contact length measured parallel to the direction of the axis of the first calendering roll exert a pressure onto the paper web of at least 50 N per centimeter of the contact length.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for making a tissue paper product from a tissue paper web, said method comprising the steps of:
passing said tissue paper web through an embossing nip formed between a first and a second embossing roll, wherein at least one of said embossing rolls comprises at least 30 embossing elements per square centimeter; and passing said tissue paper web through a calendering nip formed between a first and a second calendering roll, wherein said first and said second calendering roll are in contact with said tissue paper web over a contact length measured parallel to the direction of the axis of said first calendering roll and said first and said second calendering roll exert a pressure onto said paper web of at least 50 N per centimeter of said contact length.

2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein said first and said second calendering roll exert a pressure onto said paper web of at least about 75 N per centimeter of said contact length.

3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of said embossing rolls comprises at least about 50 embossing elements per square centimeter.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein embossing said embossing elements have a height of less than about 0.5 mm.

5 . The method claim 1 , wherein said first embossing roll has a web contacting surface comprising a rubber material and said second embossing roll has a web contacting surface comprising a hard material.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said step of passing said tissue paper web through a calendering nip is carried out after said step of passing said tissue paper web through an embossing nip.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises a step of applying a lotion to the tissue paper web.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises a step of joining plies of tissue paper web, preferably by embossing, as to form a multi ply tissue paper product.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises a step of cutting sheets as to provide paper tissue products.

10 . A tissue paper product made according to a method of claim 1 .

11 . The tissue paper product of claim 10 comprising three plies.
