Abstract

The invention concerns a device designed to form a twisted length of yarn incorporating dubbing that can be mounted directly on the shank of the hook. The manipulations are simpler. In particular, the risk of the twist coming undone after forming is avoided.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A device for the manufacturing of dubbing twisted between two lengths of yarn, comprising:
a trough for the deposits of the dubbing between two lengths of yarn and for the twisting of the two yarns along the trough; a trough support supporting the trough; and a means of attaching the trough support to a fixed point such that the trough support is movable with respect to the fixed point, thereby allowing the application of the twisted dubbing directly on a hook mounted in a vise.

2 . A device according to claim 1 in which the trough has a telescopic section.

3 . A device according to claim 1 in which the trough is open at one end.

4 . A device according to the claim 3 in which the trough includes a guide for the yarn opposite the open end.

5 . A device according to the claim 1 in which the trough includes a guide for the yarn opposite the open end.

6 . A device according to claim 1 in which the trough support includes an adjustable element for adjusting the position of the trough with respect to the attaching means by a horizontal translation or vertical or rotational translation movement.

7 . A device according to claim 1 in which the attaching means is arranged for positioning on a flat support.

8 . A device according to claim 7 in which the means of attachment is arranged for mounting on a hook vise support.

9 . A device according to claim 1 in which the attaching means is arranged for mounting on a cylindrical support.

10 . A device according to claim 9 in which the means of attachment is arranged for mounting on a hook vise support.

11 . A device according to claim 1 in which the means of attachment is arranged for mounting on a hook vise support.

12 . A process of manufacturing dubbing twisted between two lengths of yarn, comprising the steps of:
assembling a hook in a vise; attaching yarn (F) by its first end on the hook; installing a trough in a horizontal plane with its axis directed towards the hook; positioning the yarn in the trough along the axis; depositing dubbing on the yarn, crosswise and in a desired quantity; looping the yarn and attaching its second end to the hook; twisting the yarn by the free end of the loop; and winding the twist formed according to the foregoing steps around the hook to form a bait.

13 . A process according to claim 12 whereby the yarn is twisted by means of a hook.

14 . A process according to claim 13 whereby the hook has a loop for gripping the yarn turning through more than 360°.

15 . A process according to claim 12 whereby the hook has a loop for gripping the yarn turning through more than 360°.

16 . An assembly for the manufacturing of artificial flies comprising a device for manufacturing twisted dubbing and a vise supporting a hook, the device having a trough for the deposit of dubbing between two lengths of yarn and the twisting of the two lengths along the trough, a trough support supporting the trough, and a means of attaching the trough support to the vise while permitting the trough to be movably positioned with respect to the vise.
