Firearm leveler and stabilizer
Abstract
The invented firearm leveler-stabilizer reduces rifle movement to improve projectile accuracy by using an adjustable elongated member connected to the bottom surface of a gun buttstock. A turnbuckle provides an adjustment means for extremely precise leveling of the firearm's barrel while a foot pad rests upon a supporting surface to increase stability during recoil, and while the front of the firearm preferably rests on a bi-pod or other support. A swivel at one end of the leveler-stabilizer connects to a buttstock mount, and a foot pad at the other end of the leveler-stabilizer rests on the ground. In between the two ends is a turnbuckle which provides a means to adjust buttstock elevation extremely accurately for targeting. This foot pad may have an optional sling attachment point. The leveler-stabilizer pivots to against the firearm for transport or storage. The leveler-stabilizer is particularly effective near the rear of the gun and the additional use of a front pod unit, that is, a monopod, bipod, or tripod at the point forward of the receiver, so that, as the rear leveler-stabilizer moves the rear of the firearm up or down, the front of the firearm pivots on the front pod unit.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An adjustable leveler for a firearm having a stock, comprising:
a base member adapted to be placed on a support surface; an elongated member having a first portion coupled to the base member; and a connector assembly coupled to a second portion of the elongated member, including:
a pivot point configured to pivotably couple to the stock:
an arm having first and second longitudinal ends fixedly coupled to th pivot point and to the elongated member, respectively and
a contacting portion disposed on an upper surface of the arm and configured to contact a lower surface of the stock.
2 . The adjustable leveler in claim 1 , wherein the contacting portion comprises a substantially flat upper surface of the arm.
3 . The adjustable leveler in claim 1 , wherein the arm has a length from about one to about two inches.
4 . The adjustable leveler in claim 1 , wherein a substantially fixed minimum angle between an axis of the elongated member and an axis of the arm is between about 30 degrees to about 50 degrees.
5 . The adjustable leveler in claim 1 , wherein the leveler includes a sling mount coupled to the base member, and designed to connect to one end of a firearm sling.
6 . The adjustable leveler of claim 1 , wherein the elongated member includes a turnbuckle adjustably connecting the connector assembly to the base member.
7 . The adjustable leveler of claim 1 , wherein the connector assembly is pivotally coupled to the firearm through the use of a single pivot joint.
8 . The adjustable leveler of claim 1 , wherein the connector assembly is pivotally coupled to the firearm through the use of two pivot joints, so that the connector assembly pivots relative to the firearm and the connector assembly also pivots relative to the elongated member.
9 . The adjustable leveler of claim 6 , wherein the elongated member further includes two oppositely-threaded end rods threadably coupled to either end of the turnbuckle that is adapted to be turned relative to the end rods to shorten and lengthen the adjustable leveler.
10 . The adjustable leveler of claim 1 , wherein the leveler is positioned on a butt end of the firearm.
11 . An adjustable leveler for a firearm, comprising:
a base member adapted to be placed on a support surface; a length-adjustable elongated member having first and second portions, wherein the first portion is pivotally coupled to the base member; and a connector assembly coupled to the second portion of the elongated member, including:
a pivot point configured to pivotably couple to the firearm;
an arm, having:
an upper surface; and
first and second longitudinal ends fixedly coupled to the pivot point and to the elongated member, respectively, wherein an angle between a longitudinal axis of the elongated member and a longitudinal axis of the arm is between about 30 degrees to about 50 degrees; and
a contacting portion disposed on the upper surface of the arm and configured to contact a lower surface of the firearm.
12 . The adjustable leveler of claim 11 , wherein the length-adjustable elongated member includes a turnbuckle adjustably connecting the connector assembly to the base member.
13 . The adjustable leveler of claim 12 , wherein the length-adjustable elongated member further includes two oppositely-threaded end rods threadably coupled to either end of the turnbuckle that is adapted to be turned relative to the end rods to shorten and lengthen the adjustable leveler.
14 . The adjustable leveler of claim 13 , wherein the pivot point is configured to couple to a surface of a stock of the firearm.
15 . The adjustable leveler of claim 14 , wherein the pivot point is configured to couple to a bottom surface of the stock.
16 . The adjustable leveler of claim 15 , wherein the pivot point is configured to couple to a sling stud of the stuck.
17 . The adjustable leveler of claim 16 , wherein the base member comprises a footpad.
18 . The adjustable leveler of claim 17 , wherein the contacting surface comprises a substantially flat upper surface of the arm.
19 . The adjustable leveler of claim 18 , further comprising a sling mount coupled to the base member and designed to connect to one end of a firearm sling.
20 . An adjustable leveler for a firearm, comprising:
a base member adapted to be placed on a support surface; a length-adjustable elongated member pivotally coupled to the base member, having;
right and left male threaded end rods; and
a right- and left-female threaded turnbuckle configured to receive the right and left threaded end rods at opposite ends of the turnbuckle; and
a connector assembly coupled to a second portion of the elongated member, including:
a pivot point configured to pivotably couple to the stock;
an arm, having first and second longitudinal ends fixedly coupled to the pivot point and to the elongated member, respectively; and
