Abstract

The present invention refers to an improvement in a bed mattress containing signal means for the identification of the correct mattress position for any day of the year, making it viable for the implementation of a rotation program designed for increasing the useful life of this product. The improved mattress contains signal means for indicating which one of the four possible mattress positions is the correct one at the date of inspection. For example, in a monthly rotation program, if the current month is not indicated on the mattress in a directly readable form, the mattress should have its position altered, until the correct month is directly readable on the mattress. In this manner, the four positions of the mattress are uniformly used, expanding significantly the useful life of the mattress, in comparison with another that is not rotated, that is rotated sporadically or that is rotated in a random fashion.

1 . “MATTRESS IMPROVEMENT CONTAINING MEANS FOR ROTATION SIGNALLING”, in which the mattress is constructed of a core and a cover enveloping the core, characterized by means for rotation signalling, in which the said means indicate the correct position of the mattress in any day of the year, so that the use of the mattress can be divided in a controlled fashion in periods substancially equal for all the four possible mattress positions in relation to the bed, thus distributing in time and space the external factors that deform a mattress, therefore expanding the useful life of the mattress.  
   
   
       2 . “MATTRESS IMPROVEMENT CONTAINING MEANS FOR ROTATION SIGNALLING”, according to  claim 1 , in which the said means for rotation signalling are located in at least two sides of the mattress, A and B on one side and C and D on the opposite side; and means for signalling B is upside down in relation to A, and means for signalling C is upside down in relation to D being that A, B, C and D correspond each to one of the four possible mattress positions and reciprocally, for each mattress position, only one of A, B, C or D is correctly applied.  
   
   
       3 . “MATTRESS IMPROVEMENT CONTAINING MEANS FOR ROTATION SIGNALLING”, according to  claim 2 , in which the said means for rotation signalling A, B, C and D correspond to the four seasons, in any order.  
   
   
       4 . “MATTRESS IMPROVEMENT CONTAINING MEANS FOR ROTATION SIGNALLING”, according to  claim 2 , in which the said means for rotation signalling A, B, C and D correpond to four quarterly periods, being that such periods are contiguous and start and end in any two adjoining days of the year.  
   
   
       5 . “MATTRESS IMPROVEMENT CONTAINING MEANS FOR ROTATION SIGNALLING”, according to  claim 2 , in which the said means for rotation signalling A, B, C e D correspond to twelve numbers, from 1 to 12, and in which each set of three numbers corresponds to each one of A, B, C and D, in any order; and preferably where 1, 5 and 9 is the first set; 2, 6 and 10 is the second set; 3, 7 and 11 is the third set and 4, 8 and 12 is the fourth set; and even more preferably where 1, 5 and 9 correspond to the signal means A; 2, 6 and 10 correspond to signal means B; 3, 7 and 11 correspond to signal means C and 4, 8 and 12 correspond to signal means D.  
   
   
       6 . “MATTRESS IMPROVEMENT CONTAINING MEANS FOR ROTATION SIGNALLING”, according to  claim 2 , in which the said means for rotation signalling A, B, C and D correspond to the twelve months of the year, from January to December, and in which three months correspond to each of A, B, C, and D, in any order; and preferably in which the set January, May and September in one of A, B, C or D; February, June and October is another; March, July and November is still another and April, August and December is the fourth of A, B, C and D; and more preferably, in which the set January, May and September is A; February, June and October is B; March, July and November is C, and April, August and December is D.  
   
   
       7 . “MATTRESS IMPROVEMENT CONTAINING MEANS FOR ROTATION SIGNALLING”, according to  claim 1 , in which the said means for rotation signalling are integrated with the mattress through a retrofit.
