Abstract

A built-in refrigerator wherein the center of hinging movement of a door is provided at the outside of a cabinet. The built-in refrigerator, which is installed in parallel to an adjacent furnishing, can prevent interference with hinging movement of the door by the furnishing, by virtue of a spacing member interposed between the cabinet and the furnishing. That is, the built-in refrigerator according to the present invention comprises a housing in the form of the cabinet internally defining a space, the door hingably coupled to the housing to open and close the space, the center of hinging movement of the door being positioned at the outside of the housing, and the spacing member which defines a constant gap between the housing and the structure.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A built-in refrigerator installed in parallel to an adjacent structure, and comprising a housing internally defining a space, and a door hingably coupled to the housing to open and close the space, a center of hinging movement of the door being positioned at the outside of the housing, further comprising:
a spacing member which defines a constant gap between the housing and the adjacent structure.

2 . The refrigerator according to claim 1 , wherein the spacing member has one end closer to an installation position of the structure than the center of hinging movement of the door, and the other end coupled to the housing.

3 . The refrigerator according to claim 1 , wherein the space defined in the housing is a machine room, and the door is a machine room door.

4 . The refrigerator according to claim 3 , wherein: the door is vertically hingable to be opened and closed: and
the refrigerator further comprises a pair of telescopic support units adapted to prevent rapid downward hinging movement of the door.

5 . The refrigerator according to claim 3 , wherein the spacing member is a hollow chassis structure.

6 . The refrigerator according to claim 5 , wherein the spacing member has a plurality of openings which enable communication between the interior of the machine room and the interior of the spacing member.
