Plant watering system
Abstract
A plant watering system adapted to be communicated with a controlled pressurized water source for watering plants growing in a planting area. The system includes a water flow conduit having a first annular portion disposed in a horizontal disposition circumscribing the planting area and a cover ring disposed about and maintaining the first portion of the conduit in place about the planting area. The cover ring defines a plurality of inwardly facing cutout areas at circumferentially spaced locations thereon. A plurality of water outlet nozzles communicate with and project from the first portion of the conduit through the cutout areas in the cover ring for directing water from the conduit onto the planting area. A second portion of the conduit communicates with the first portion through one of the cutout areas in the cover ring and communicates the first portion with the pressurized water source.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A system adapted to be communicated with a controlled pressurized water source for watering plants growing in a planting area, said system comprising:
a water flow conduit including a first annular portion disposed in a substantially horizontal disposition and circumscribing the planting area; a cover ring disposed about and maintaining said first portion of said conduit in place about the planting area, said cover ring defining a plurality of inwardly facing cutout areas at circumferentially-spaced locations thereon; a plurality of water outlet nozzles communicating with and projecting from said first portion of said conduit through said cutout areas for directing water from said conduit onto said planting area; and means for communicating said first portion of said conduit with the water source.
2 . The system of claim 1 wherein said water outlet nozzles are selected from the group consisting of spray nozzles, drip nozzles and misting nozzles.
3 . The system of claim 1 wherein said cover ring is adapted to be disposed about one or more plants growing in the ground within the planting area and includes a depending skirt portion extending about said ring, said skirt portion being adapted to be extended into the ground about the planting area to retain water within the planting area and deter weed growth into said area.
4 . The system of claim 1 wherein said cover ring defines a plurality of abutting arcuate sections, each of said sections defining at least one conduit retention member thereon for securing a segment of said first portion of said water flow conduit to said section whereby upon said ring sections being secured together, said first portion of said conduit is secured to said cover ring.
5 . The system of claim 3 wherein said water outlet nozzles are selected from the group consisting of spray nozzles, drip nozzles and misting nozzles.
6 . The system of claim 3 wherein said conduit includes a vertically extending arm portion communicating with said first portion thereof through one of said cut out areas in said cover ring and including a water outlet nozzle carried by and communicating with said vertically extending portion of said conduit for watering a plant growing upwardly through said centrally disposed open area in said ring.
7 . The system of claim 4 wherein said conduit includes a vertically extending arm portion communicating with said first portion thereof through one of said cut out areas in said cover ring and including a water outlet nozzle carried by and communicating with said vertically extending portion of said conduit for watering a plant growing upwardly through said centrally disposed open area in said ring.
8 . The system of claim 6 wherein said water outlet nozzle communicating with said vertically extending portion of said conduit is a misting type nozzle.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
