Abstract

A hat container that can be used to store or transport billed hats such as baseball caps or visors. To reduce the possibility that hats may become damaged during storage and transportation, the hat container can resemble a billed hat in appearance and, as such, comprise a bill portion, a crown portion, a closure, and a door. Other shape-preserving features include a concave depression that can be located in the door and a convex shape-retaining element that can span the bottom surface of the container, thereby better complementing the shape of billed hats. The hat container can also comprise a stabilizer, which can take the form of a rim extending from the edge of the door. The stabilizer can function to prevent water from entering the internal cavity of the hat container. The container can also comprise a loop that can be used to hang or carry the container.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A hat container for holding a plurality of stacked billed hats comprising:
 (a) a bill portion; (b) a crown portion; (c) a door pivotally connected to said crown portion; (d) a stabilizer; and (e) a closure wherein said bill and crown portions and said door define an internal cavity, comprising a bottom surface, a top surface and sides, said cavity being sized to accommodate the plurality of stacked billed hats.

2 . The hat container of claim 1 further comprising a convex shape-retaining element.

3 . The hat container of claim 1 , wherein the door comprises a concave depression.

4 . The hat container of claim 1 further comprising a loop for hanging or carrying the hat container.

5 . The hat container of claim 1 , wherein the stabilizer is a rim extending from the edge of the door.

6 . The hat container of claim 5 , wherein the stabilizer prevents water from entering the internal cavity.

7 . The hat container of claim 1 , wherein the closure is a latch.

8 . A hat container for holding a plurality of stacked billed hats comprising:
 (a) a bill portion; (b) a crown portion; (c) a door pivotally connected to said crown portion; (d) a closure; and (e) a convex shape-retaining element, wherein said bill and crown portions and said door define an internal cavity, comprising a bottom surface, a top surface and sides, said cavity being sized to accommodate the plurality of stacked billed hats.

9 . The hat container of claim 8 , further comprising a stabilizer.

10 . The hat container of claims 9 , wherein the stabilizer is a rim extending from the edge of the door.

11 . The hat container of claim 9 , wherein the stabilizer prevents water from entering the internal cavity.

12 . The hat container of claim 8 , wherein the door comprises a concave depression.

13 . The hat container of claim 8 further comprising a loop for hanging or carrying the hat container.

14 . The hat container of claim 8 , wherein the closure is a latch.

15 . A hat container for holding a plurality of stacked billed hats comprising:
 (a) a bill portion (b) a crown portion; (c) a door pivotally connected to said crown portion; (d) a stabilizer; and (e) a closure, wherein said bill and crown portions and said door define an internal cavity, comprising a bottom surface, a top surface and sides, said cavity being sized to accommodate the plurality of stacked billed hats, and wherein said door comprises a concave depression.

16 . The hat container of claim 15 further comprising a convex shape-retaining element.

17 . The hat container of claim 16 , wherein the stabilizer is a rim extending from the edge of the door.

18 . The hat container of claim 17 , wherein the stabilizer prevents water from entering the internal cavity.

19 . The hat container of claim 18 further comprising a loop for hanging or carrying the hat container.

20 . The hat container of claim 19 , wherein the closure is a latch.
