Combination toothbrush and flossing device
Abstract
The present invention is a combination toothbrush and flossing device. More particularly, a personal dental care instrument with a toothbrush on one end and a flossing device on the opposite end. More particularly a flossing end where dental floss is dispensed through a small hole within the toothbrush, where which is located a hollow cavity containing a spool of dental floss. Floss will dispense through the hole and over across a forked bridge and secure to a non-slip knob on the handle. Also attached to said toothbrush will be a cutting device for cutting and disposal of used dental floss. On the apposing end of the dental device will be a toothbrush. Apposing ends of device will inter-lock together for assembly purposes and for additional access to said floss. A protective sheath slips over the floss end and locks on, for sanitary storage.

A combination toothbrush and floss dispenser and flossing device comprising: an elongated shaft ( 1 ) which comprises a brush head ( 2 ) at one end thereof, the brush head ( 2 ) comprising a plurality of bristles ( 3 ) thereon; a flossing device comprising the distal end of the shaft ( 4 ) the flossing device being forked in nature and containing two elongated prongs ( 5 ) further comprising an aperture through which floss ( 6 ) may be pulled by a user; the floss device ( 4 ) further comprising a non-slip knob ( 7 ) for attaching said floss ( 6 ); a spool retaining floss cavity, ( 10 ) sized to longitudinally receive said floss spool ( 9 ) containing the floss ( 6 ), said floss cavity ( 10 ) having a bore opening ( 11 ) for dispensing of said floss ( 6 ) and a cutting tool ( 14 ) for removal of used floss; a male member ( 12 ) extending from the shaft end ( 1 ) and received by a female counterpart ( 13 ) of said distal end ( 4 ); and functioning to allow the user to pull the floss ( 6 ) from the floss spool ( 9 ) and rap floss ( 6 ) around knob ( 7 ) across prongs ( 5 ) and secure to said knob ( 7 ) to use the floss ( 6 ) in its intended manner.
2 . A combination toothbrush and flossing device as described in claim 1 , wherein the prongs ( 5 ) are grooved in nature.
3 . A combination toothbrush and flossing device as described in claim 1 , wherein the length of floss is intended to correlate to the recommended life of the toothbrush.
4 . A combination toothbrush and flossing device as described in claim 1 , wherein a protective sheath ( 19 ) attaches to prongs ( 5 ) for sanitary storage.
5 . A combination toothbrush and flossing device as described in claim 1 , wherein the floss is flavored or un-flavored.
6 . A combination toothbrush and flossing device as described in claim 1 , wherein the brush head is angled to a previously-determined degree.
7 . A combination toothbrush and flossing device as described in claim 1 , wherein the device is of two piece construction.
8 . A combination toothbrush and flossing device as described in claim 1 , wherein the device comprises indicia thereon in the form of previously determined text, graphics, designs, and colors.
9 . A combination toothbrush and flossing device as described in claim 1 , wherein the length of the shaft is variable.
10 . A combination toothbrush and flossing device as described in claim 1 , wherein the device is manufactured of materials selected from the group consisting of lightweight and durable plastic, nylon, acrylic or polymers.
