Train-operated biowaste removal system
Abstract
A system for collecting bio-waste material is provided. The system includes a plurality of collection receptacles associated with a structure, each of the plurality of collection receptacles receiving the bio-waste material without the use of water as a carrier. A transport network extends from each of the plurality of collection receptacles to at least one storage receptacle located at the structure. A plurality of electromechanical carts are disposed within the transport network and automatically collect and package the bio-waste material to form packaged bio-waste material. The electromechanical carts can be configured for use as a multiple-cart train-cart system that is guided from one location to the next over a series of rails or tracks. In addition, bio-waste can be moved to one or more positions in a multi-level structure using any number of lift or drop mechanisms, including air-pressurized systems, hydraulic or pneumatic platforms, and the like.

(a) a collection receptacle associated with a structure, the collection receptacle receiving bio-waste material; (b) a mechanical transport network extending from the collection receptacle to a storage receptacle; and (c) a train-cart system movable within the mechanical transport network, the train-cart system automatically packaging the bio-waste material retrieved at a plurality of collection receptacles in preparation for delivery of the bio-waste material to the storage receptacle.
2 . The system as recited in claim 1 , wherein the train-cart system comprises at least a train-cart engine and at least one attached train-cart movably coupled to one or more rails.
3 . The system as recited in claim 2 , wherein the train-cart engine is configured to push or pull the at least one attached train-cart from one or more receptacles to the storage receptacle.
4 . The system as recited in claim 2 , wherein the train-cart engine is configured to provide electrical power and electrical signaling to the at least one attached train-cart, such that the at least one attached train-cart opens or closes one or more doors based on an electrical signal from the train-cart engine.
5 . The system as recited in claim 2 , wherein the train-cart engine comprises a transceiver configured for sending and receiving as least position information with a control center.
6 . The system as recited in claim 1 , wherein the mechanical transport network further comprises a platform configured to rise or lower the bio-waste material, such that the bio-waste material is proximate to the storage receptacle.
7 . The system as recited in claim 6 , wherein the platform is mounted to one of a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder configured to rise or lower the platform based on a signal from the control center.
8 . A system for collecting bio-waste material, the system comprising:
(a) a plurality of collection receptacles associated with a structure, each of the plurality of collection receptacles receiving the bio-waste material; (b) a mechanical transport network extending from each of the plurality of collection receptacles to at least one storage receptacle located at the structure; and (c) a train-cart system disposed within the mechanical transport network, at least one train-cart engine of the train-cart system automatically packaging the bio-waste material to form packaged bio-waste material at one of the plurality of collection receptacles, and an attached train-cart of the train-car system automatically packaging the bio-waste material to form packaged bio-waste material at a different one of the plurality of collection receptacles; wherein the train-cart system collects the packaged bio-waste material and automatically delivers the packaged bio-waste material to the at least one storage receptacle.
9 . The system as recited in claim 8 , wherein the mechanical transport network comprises a series of interconnected rails for moving the train-cart system to the plurality of collection receptacles.
10 . The system as recited in claim 8 , wherein the mechanical transport network further comprises a mechanism for raising or lowering the packaged bio-waste material to the at least one storage receptacle.
11 . The system as recited in claim 10 , wherein the mechanism comprises a platform configured to raise or lower a platform based on a signal from a control center.
12 . The system as recited in claim 11 , wherein the platform comprises one or more hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders configured to raise or lower the platform based on the signal from the control center.
13 . A method for collecting bio-waste material produced in a structure, the method comprising:
(a) a step for receiving bio-waste material deposited using a collection receptacle; and (b) upon an electromechanical train-cart system receiving the bio-waste material, a step for compacting the received bio-waste material to form a closed package of the bio-waste material, such that the bio-waste material is received from the collection receptacle without the aid of water.
14 . The method as recited in claim 13 , further comprising a step for positioning the electromechanical train system in close proximity to the collection receptacle.
15 . The method as recited in claim 13 , further comprising a step for vertically moving the closed package of the bio-waste material to a storage receptacle.
16 . The method as recited in claim 15 , wherein the step for vertically moving the closed package of the bio-waste material further comprises a step for moving the closed package of the bio-waste material on a vertically movable platform positioned within a mechanical transport network.
17 . The method as recited in claim 13 , further comprising:
(a) moving the closed package of the bio-waste material over a series of interconnected rails to a storage receptacle; (b) releasing the bio-waste material stored in a train-cart engine of the train-cart system; and (c) releasing the bio-waste material stored in an attached train-cart of the train-cart system; wherein the bio-waste material is release through any of a side, forward, or rear release door of the train-cart engine and the attached train-cart.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
