Claims

Abstract

A semiconductor light emitting device ensuring a uniform color tone comprises a semiconductor light emitting element that emits light of a first wavelength upon injection of a current, a fluorescent material portion that contains a fluorescent material excited by light of the first wavelength to emit light of a second wavelength, and a diffuser mixed in an appropriate material around the semiconductor light emitting element.

       21 . A semiconductor light emitting device comprising: 
 a semiconductor light emitting element which emits light of a first wavelength when a current is injected thereto;    a binder overlying said semiconductor light emitting element, and containing in mixture a fluorescent material and a diffuser, said fluorescent material being excited by light of the first wavelength to emit light of a second wavelength; and    a sealing resin overlying said binder.    
   
   
       22 . The semiconductor light emitting device according to  claim 21  wherein weight % concentration of said diffuser in said binder is in the range from 0.5% to 5.0%.  
   
   
       23 . The semiconductor light emitting device according to  claim 21  wherein said diffuser contains at least one of calcium carbonate, silica, SiO 2  and Al 2 O 3 .  
   
   
       24 . A semiconductor light emitting device, comprising: 
 a semiconductor light emitting element which emits light of a first wavelength when a current is injected thereto;    a binder overlying said semiconductor light emitting element, and containing a fluorescent material, said fluorescent material being excited by light of the first wavelength to emit light of a second wavelength; and    a sealing resin overlaying said binder, said sealing resin containing a diffuser.    
   
   
       25 . The semiconductor light emitting device according to  claim 24  wherein weight % concentration of said diffuser in said sealing resin is in the range from 0.5% to 5.0%.  
   
   
       26 . The semiconductor light emitting device according to  claim 24  wherein said diffuser contains at least one of calcium carbonate, silica, SiO 2  and Al 2 O 3 .  
   
   
       27 . The semiconductor light emitting device according to  claim 25  wherein said sealing resin ins made of silicone resin.  
   
   
       28 . A semiconductor light emitting device comprising: 
 a semiconductor light emitting element which emits light of a first wavelength when a current is injected thereto;    a binder overlying said semiconductor light emitting element, and containing a diffuser; and    a sealing resin overlaying said binder, said sealing resin containing a fluorescent material being excited by light of the first wavelength to emit light of a second wavelength.    
   
   
       29 . The semiconductor light emitting device according to  claim 28  wherein weight % concentration of said diffuser in said binder is in the range from 0.5% to 5.0%.  
   
   
       30 . The semiconductor light emitting device according to  claim 28  wherein said diffuser contains at least one of calcium carbonate, silica, SiO 2  and Al 2 O 3 .
