1 . A use of 2-methyl-thiazolidine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid (2-MTDC) and/or its physiologically tolerable salts to prevent undesirable side effects of cytostatics.

A method for preventing undesirable side effects of cytostatics, which comprises administering an effective amount of 2-methyl-thiazolidine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid (2-MTDC) and/or its physiologically tolerable salts to a patient in need thereof for preventing said undesirable side effects of cytostatics.
