Display unit with pass through shelves

Abstract

A display unit for displaying products in modules, the display unit formed from a single blank without the use of glue, tape or other fasteners, the shelves of which are preferably configured by passing a shelf panel in the back wall of the unit through an opening in the front wall of the display unit. The display unit, when assembled, comprises a front panel with a plurality of openings, side panels, and a back panel comprising shelf panels which extend through the openings of the front panel forming shelves. Modular product units may be placed on the shelves for product display. Each shelf may contain side walls, creating a friction fit with the product modules.

1 . A display unit for displaying objects formed from a single blank comprising: 
 a front panel comprising at least one aperture;    at least two side panels foldably connected to the front panel;    a back panel foldably connected to the side panels; and    at least one shelf panel;    wherein the at least one shelf panel is foldably connected to the back panel and passes through the at least one aperture in the front panel forming a shelf;    
   
   
       2 . The display unit of  claim 1 , wherein the shelf comprises side walls.  
   
   
       3 . The display unit of  claim 1 , wherein the shelf is tilted slightly backward  
   
   
       4 . The display unit of  claim 1 , wherein the number of apertures and shelf panels are the same.  
   
   
       5 . The display unit of  claim 1 , further comprising a retention tab located on the rear portion of each shelf.  
   
   
       6 . A display unit for displaying objects comprising: 
 a back panel;    side panels connected to the back panel;    a front panel connected to the side panels, the front panel comprising a plurality of openings;    a plurality of shelves connected to the back panel, each shelf extending through one of the openings in the front panel;    wherein the shelves comprise side walls and are capable of holding a module of product.    
   
   
       7 . The display unit of  claim 6 , wherein the side walls create a friction fit with a module of product placed on the shelf.  
   
   
       8 . The display unit of  claim 6 , further comprising a retention tab located near the rear portion of each shelf.  
   
   
       9 . The display unit of  claim 8 , wherein the shelves are angled slightly rearward.  
   
   
       10 . A product display formed from a single blank comprising: 
 a top panel connected to a top flap and a front panel, wherein the front panel comprises a plurality of apertures, wherein the top flap comprises a substantially vertical cut line on a top edge and wherein the top panel, top flap and front panel are separated by fold lines;    a bottom panel connected to the front panel and a bottom flap, wherein the bottom flap comprises, a substantially vertical cut line on a bottom edge and wherein the bottom panel, front panel and bottom flap are separated by fold lines;    two side panels connected to the front panel;    a first back panel connected to one of the side panels and a second back panel connected to the second side panel; and    a plurality of shelf panels connected to the first back panel and the second back panel, the shelf panels comprising a bottom panel and two side panels;    wherein the shelf panels pass through the apertures of the front panel forming shelves.    
   
   
       11 . The product display of  claim 10 , wherein the first back panel and second back panel form a back panel when the product display is assembled.  
   
   
       12 . The product display of  claim 10 , further comprising retention tabs located on each shelf.  
   
   
       13 . A blank for forming a display unit comprising: 
 a base sheet comprising:    (a) a front panel comprising a plurality of apertures, the front panel comprising a top edge, two side edges, and a bottom edge;    (b) a pair of side panels, one side foldably connected to each side edge of the front panel;    (c) a first back panel foldably connected to one of the side panels and a second back panel foldably connected to the second side panel;    (d) a first tab panel foldable connected to the first back panel and a second tab panel foldably connected to the second back panel; and    (e) a plurality of shelf panels foldably connected to the first back panel and second back panel, the shelve panels located on the back panel in alignment with the apertures of the front panel when a display unit is constructed from the blank.    
   
   
       14 . The blank of  claim 13 , further comprising a top panel foldably connected to the top edge of the front panel and a bottom panel foldably connected to the bottom edge of the front panel.  
   
   
       15 . The blank of  claim 13 , wherein the first back panel and the second back panel for a back panel when a product display is constructed from the blank.  
   
   
       16 . The blank of  claim 13 , further comprising side walls foldable connected to each side of the shelf panels.
