Abstract

A process for the synthesis of clavam compounds, in particular clavulanic acid using β-lactam synthetase polypeptides and β-lactam synthetase polynucleotides.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 32 . (canceled)

33 . A recombinant vector comprising a polynucleotide capable of producing a polypeptide having β-lactam synthetase activity and having at least 95% identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 over the entire length of SEQ ID NO:2.

34 . A recombinant vector according to claim 33 comprising a polynucleotide comprising the polynucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.

         35 . A host microorganism comprising a recombinant vector of claims 33 .

36 . A host microorganism according to claim 35 which is selected from Streptomyces , or E. coli.
