Disposable swab

Abstract

The disposable swab is a flat card having a handle portion and a lower edge, an absorbent pad disposed at the lower edge, and a moisture-impermeable wrapper extending around and encapsulating at least said absorbent pad. The absorbent pad is pre-moistened with sanitizing fluid. The swab is used to clean a toilet seat, and disposed of after use.

1 . A disposable swab, comprising: 
 a rigid body having a handle portion and a lower edge; and    an absorbent pad disposed at said lower edge of said rigid body, said absorbent pad being pre-moistened with sanitizing fluid.    
   
   
       2 . The disposable swab according to  claim 1 , wherein said rigid body is a flat rigid card.  
   
   
       3 . The disposable swab of  claim 2 , wherein said flat rigid card is rectangular and said lower edge extends from one corner to an adjacent corner.  
   
   
       4 . The disposable swab of  claim 1 , wherein said absorbent pad is selected from the group consisting of a non-woven fabric, woven fabric, and sponge-like material.  
   
   
       5 . The disposable swab of  claim 1 , wherein said sanitizing fluid is antibacterial and antiviral.  
   
   
       6 . The disposable swab of  claim 1 , wherein said sanitizing fluid is fast drying.  
   
   
       7 . The disposable swab of  claim 1 , wherein said sanitizing fluid is scented.  
   
   
       8 . The disposable swab of  claim 1 , wherein said absorbent pad is fixed to said rigid body by adhesive.  
   
   
       9 . The disposable swab of  claim 1 , wherein said absorbent pad is mechanically fixed to said rigid body.  
   
   
       10 . The disposable swab according to  claim 1 , further comprising a moisture-impregnable wrapper extending around and encapsulating at least said absorbent pad.  
   
   
       11 . The disposable swab of  claim 10 , wherein said moisture-impregnable wrapper is sealed to said rigid body allowing said handle portion to extend out of said wrapper.  
   
   
       12 . The disposable swab of  claim 10 , wherein said moisture impregnable wrapper is sealed to said rigid body using adhesive.  
   
   
       13 . The disposable swab of  claim 10 , wherein said moisture impregnable wrapper is heat-sealed to said rigid body.  
   
   
       14 . The disposable swab of  claim 10 , wherein said moisture impregnable wrapper completely encapsulates said swab.  
   
   
       15 . A disposable swab comprising: 
 a flat card having a handle portion and a lower edge;    an absorbent pad disposed at the lower edge, said absorbent pad extending from one corner at one end of said lower edge to an adjacent corner at an opposite end of said lower edge.    
   
   
       16 . The disposable swab of  claim 15 , wherein said flat card is rectangular.] 
   
   
       17 . The disposable swab of  claim 15  wherein said absorbent pad is pre-moistened with sanitizing fluid and encapsulated in a moisture-impregnable wrapper.  
   
   
       18 . A disposable swab for cleaning a toilet seat, comprising: 
 a flat rectangular card made from a thermoplastic material, the card having a handle portion adapted for being grasped by a user;    an absorbent pad attached to an edge of the card;    a cleansing and sanitizing solution, the absorbent pad being pre-moistened with the cleansing and sanitizing solution; and    a removable wrapper disposed about the pre-moistened, absorbent pad, the wrapper encapsulating the absorbent pad in order to prevent loss of the cleansing and sanitizing solution before use;    whereby the wrapper is removed, the user grasping the handle portion of the card to clean the toilet seat with the pre-moistened absorbent card, the swab being disposed of after use.
