Auxiliary locating mechanism for spring clamp
Abstract
An auxiliary locating mechanism for spring clamp includes a curved locking plate pivotally assembled at a supporting arm to a first handle of the spring clamp and having a toothed member provided behind the supporting arm, and a rack fixedly connected at a front end to a joint of a second handle of the spring clamp and a jaw extended from the second handle with teeth formed thereon facing toward the locking plate. When the two handles are pushed at their rear ends into a clamping position, a rear end of the locking plate is simultaneously pushed to engage the toothed member with the rack and thereby locks the two handles to the clamping position. And, when a front end of the locking plate is pushed to disengage the toothed member from the rack, the two handles are automatically pushed open by a torsional spring on the spring clamp.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An auxiliary locating mechanism for spring clamp, comprising:
a curved locking plate being provided at an inner side facing toward a first handle of said spring clamp closer to a front end thereof with a supporting arm, on which a through hole is formed for a rivet to extend therethrough to assemble said locking plate to said first handle, such that said locking plate may be pivotally turned about said rivet relative to said first handle; and a rack being provided along a longitudinal edge facing toward said locking plate with a plurality of sequentially arranged teeth.
2 . The auxiliary locating mechanism for spring clamp as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said curved locking plate is further provided at said inner side with a sideward projected toothed member locating behind said supporting arm by a predetermined distance, and said toothed member being provided at the sideward projected edge with a plurality of teeth.
3 . The auxiliary locating mechanism for spring clamp as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said curved locking plate and a root of said toothed member have a predetermined space kept therebetween, and two compression springs being mounted in said space between said toothed member and said locking plate, and between rear ends of said first handle and said locking plate, respectively.
4 . The auxiliary locating mechanism for spring clamp as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said rack is provided at a front end with a through hole for a rivet to extend therethrough and thereby fixedly connect said rack to a point near a joint of a second handle of said spring clamp and a jaw extended from a front end of said second handle, and a clearance is normally left between said teeth of said rack and said teeth of said toothed member.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
