Removable bathtub rail for children

Abstract

The present invention is a removable play and confidence-building device of use by children in the bathtub, having an elongated grasping rail to avoid slipping in the bathtub, secured to back wall of the tub by horizontal anchors extending to suction cups which may be secured to the back wall, and the grasping rail being supported above the bottom of the bathtub by vertical anchors, terminating in suction cups which may be secured to the bottom of the bathtub.

An easily removable child's hand rail for a bath tub having a bottom surface and a back wall, said removable rail comprising an elongated hand rail, and two horizontal anchors connected substantially perpendicularly to the elongated rail, and extending parallel to one another, each horizontal anchor terminating in an end piece with a suction cup facing away from the elongated rail, for attachment to the wall of the tub; and two vertical anchors connected substantially perpendicularly to the elongated rail, and extending parallel to one another, each vertical anchor terminating in an end piece with a suction cup facing away from the rail, for attachment to the bottom surface of the tub.  
   
   
       2 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 1 , wherein the horizontal anchors are connected to the rail by elbow connectors.  
   
   
       3 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 1 , wherein the horizontal anchors are of equal length.  
   
   
       4 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 1 , wherein the rail comprises at least two pieces which may be securely fitted to one another for installation of the elongated bathtub rail, but easily separated for storage.  
   
   
       5 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 4 , wherein the horizontal anchors are connected to the elongated rail by elbow connectors.  
   
   
       6 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 4 , wherein the vertical anchors are joining to the elongated rail by T-connectors.  
   
   
       7 . The removable bathtub rail of  claim 1 , wherein the vertical anchors are of equal length.  
   
   
       8 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 1 , wherein the suction cups are connected to the horizontal anchors by pivotable connections.  
   
   
       9 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 2 , wherein the suction cups are connected to the horizontal anchors by pivotable connections.  
   
   
       10 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 5 , wherein the suction cups are connected to the horizontal anchors by pivotable connections.  
   
   
       11 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 1 , wherein the suction cups of the vertical anchors are connected to the anchors by pivotable connections.  
   
   
       12 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 6 , wherein the suction cups of the vertical anchors are connected to the anchors by pivotable connections.  
   
   
       13 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 1  wherein the elongated rail and anchors comprise hollow plastic piping.  
   
   
       14 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 3 , wherein each horizontal anchor comprises at least two pieces that may be securely fitted to one another but easily separated.  
   
   
       15 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 5 , wherein each vertical anchor comprises at least one piece, which may be securely fitted to the T-connectors.  
   
   
       16 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 6 , wherein the T-connectors are connected between the elongated handrail and the elbows of the horizontal anchors.  
   
   
       17 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 16 , further comprising a rail spacer between the T-connector and the elbow connector.  
   
   
       18 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 2 , further comprising a horizontal spacer connected between the elbow connectors and the pivotable suction cup end pieces.  
   
   
       19 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 17 , further comprising a horizontal spacer connected between the elbow connectors and the pivotable suction cup end pieces.  
   
   
       20 . The easily removable bathtub rail of  claim 1 , wherein the handrails is constructed transparent material, and sealed at its ends, to contain liquid in decorative objects disposed therein.
