Harness attached to air tank of self-contained breathing apparatus and provided with added hand loop

Abstract

For a firefighter or another person who may need to work in a hazardous environment, such as a rescue or chemical worker, a harness attached to an air tank of a self-contained breathing apparatus so as to enable a person wearing the harness to carry the air tank on his or her back includes, at an upper portion of the harness, a hand loop, by which a rescuer can drag a person wearing the harness, if the person has become incapacitated. Preferably, the hand loop and the shoulder straps are fabric straps, which are sewn to one another.

1 . A harness attachable to an air tank of a self-contained breathing apparatus so as to enable a firefighter wearing the harness to carry the air tank, the harness including a hand grip, by which a rescuer can drag a person wearing the harness.  
   
   
       2 . The harness of  claim 1 , wherein the hand grip is a hand loop.  
   
   
       3 . The harness of  claim 2 , wherein an upper portion of the harness includes the hand loop.  
   
   
       4 . The harness of  claim 3  including two shoulder straps, to which the air tank is attachable and to which the hand loop is attached.  
   
   
       5 . The harness of  claim 4 , wherein the hand loop and the shoulder straps are fabric or leather straps, which are sewn to one another.  
   
   
       6 . The harness of  claim 4 , wherein the hand loop and the shoulder straps are flexible straps, which are attached to one another.  
   
   
       7 . The harness of  claim 1 , wherein the harness has a rigid frame, to which the air tank is attachable and to which the hand loop is attached.  
   
   
       8 . A self-contained breathing apparatus harness provided with a hand grip, by which a rescuer can drag a person wearing said harness provided with the hand grip.  
   
   
       9 . The harness of  claim 8 , wherein the hand grip is a hand loop.  
   
   
       10 . The harness of  claim 9 , wherein an upper portion of the harness includes the hand loop.  
   
   
       11 . The harness of  claim 10  including two shoulder straps, to which the air tank is attached and to which the hand loop is attached.  
   
   
       12 . The harness of  claim 11 , wherein the hand loop and the shoulder straps are fabric or leather straps, which are sewn to one another.  
   
   
       13 . The harness of  claim 11 , wherein the hand loop and the shoulder straps are flexible straps, which are attached to one another.  
   
   
       14 . The harness of  claim 8 , wherein the harness has a rigid frame, to which the air tank is attachable and to which the hand loop is attached.
