Device for preventing ants from entering containers

Abstract

A device for preventing ants from being accessible to food in a container which has an open top and a first engaging portion located at an underside of the container, and a base which has a wall extending from a board. A second engaging portion is located at a top surface of the board. An annular flange extends from the top surface of the board of the base and an outer periphery of the container is engaged with an inner periphery of the annular flange. The first engaging portion is engaged with the second engaging portion, and liquid is filled in the base around the container.

1 . A device for preventing ants from being accessible to food, comprising: 
 a container having an open top and a first engaging portion located at an underside of the container, and    a base having a wall extending from a board and a second engaging portion located at a top surface of the board, the second engaging portion of the base being threadedly engaged with the first engaging portion of the container.    
     
     
         2 . The device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the first engaging portion of the container is a recess including a threaded inner periphery and defined in the underside of the container, and the second engaging portion of the base is a protrusion which includes a threaded outer periphery and is threadedly engaged with the recess.

The device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the first engaging portion of the container is a protrusion extending from the underside of the container and including a threaded outer periphery, and the second engaging portion is a recess including a threaded inner periphery with which the protrusion of the container is threadedly engaged.  
     
     
         4 . The device as claimed in  claim 1  further comprising an annular flange extending from the top surface of the board of the base and an outer periphery of the container is engaged with an inner periphery of the annular flange.
