Abstract

The present invention relates to a vehicle mounted printer station made up of a printer secured to a support surface tray that includes an adaptor capable of attaching the tray and printer to the top of a vehicle seat. The support surface is preferably a rectangular shaped plate with front, back and side edges along with top and bottom surfaces. The bottom surface is attached to the adaptor, the adaptor includes at least one attachment rod for securing the support surface to the vehicle seat. The attachment rods are sized to be received into receptacles provided in the top a vehicle seat designed for the vehicle headrest.

1 . A vehicle mounted printer station, comprising 
 a. a vehicle seat adapted to receive a headrest;    b. a printer; and    c. an adaptor for securing said printer to said vehicle seat.    
   
   
       2 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 1 , further including a support surface attached to said printer and said adaptor.  
   
   
       3 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 2 , wherein said support surface is a plate having a plurality of edges.  
   
   
       4 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 3 , further including a plurality of side walls attached to said plurality of edges.  
   
   
       5 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 4 , wherein said plurality of side walls are spaced to frictionally receive said printer.  
   
   
       6 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 4 , wherein at least one of said plurality of side walls is noncontinuous.  
   
   
       7 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 4 , wherein said plurality of side walls includes a front wall, a first side wall, a second side wall, and a back wall.  
   
   
       8 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 7 , wherein said front wall has a reduced height.  
   
   
       9 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 7 , wherein said back wall is noncontinuous.  
   
   
       10 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 2 , further including a securing means for securing said printer to said support surface.  
   
   
       11 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 10 , wherein the securing means is taken from the group including hook and loop fasteners, straps, adhesives or combinations of one or more of these.  
   
   
       12 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 1 , wherein said vehicle seat includes at least one receptacle to receive a post.  
   
   
       13 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 12 , wherein said vehicle seat includes a second receptacle to receive a second post.  
   
   
       14 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 1 , wherein said printer is taken from the group of printers, fax machines, copiers, scanners and combinations thereof.  
   
   
       15 . A vehicle mounted printer station comprising 
 a. an adaptor having at least one post; and    b. a printer attached to said adaptor.    
   
   
       16 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 15 , further including a second post attached to said adaptor and a distance between said first post and said second posts.  
   
   
       17 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 16  wherein at least one of said posts is adjustable to modify said distance between said first post and said second post.  
   
   
       18 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 15 , wherein said at least one post is pivotable.  
   
   
       19 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 20 , wherein at least one of said posts is vertically pivotable.  
   
   
       20 . A vehicle mounted printer station, comprising 
 a. a vehicle seat adapted to receive a headrest;    b. a printer;    c. an adaptor having at least one post, said at least one post detachably connected to said vehicle seat; and    d. a support surface connected to said printer and said adaptor.    
   
   
       21 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 22 , wherein said support surface is a plate having a plurality of edges.  
   
   
       22 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 23 , further including a plurality of side walls attached to said plurality of edges.  
   
   
       23 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 24 , wherein said plurality of side walls are spaced to frictionally receive said printer.  
   
   
       24 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 25 , wherein at least one of said plurality of side walls is noncontinuous.  
   
   
       25 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 26 , wherein said plurality of side walls includes a front wall, a first side wall, a second side wall, and a back wall.  
   
   
       26 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 27 , wherein each of said walls has a height and said front wall height is less than said height of each of said side walls and said back wall.  
   
   
       27 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 27 , wherein said back wall is noncontinuous.  
   
   
       28 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 22 , further including a securing means for securing said printer to said support surface.  
   
   
       29 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 30 , wherein the securing means is taken from the group including hook and loop fasteners, straps, adhesives or combinations of one or more of these.  
   
   
       30 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 22 , wherein said vehicle seat includes at least one receptacle to receive a post.

       35 . The vehicle mounted printer station of  claim 22 , wherein said at least one post is pivotable.  
   
   
       36 . The vehicle mounted printer station of claim  39 , wherein at least one of said posts is vertically pivotable.
