Method for making a blade material and blade material manufactured thereby
Abstract
The present invention provides a blade and a manufacturing method thereof adapted to maintain high wear resistance, high hardness, and relatively small specific gravity by using light alloy having a high hardness. A method for making a blade and blade manufactured thereby according to the present invention comprises the steps of preparing a powder mixture having 40-80 weight % of Vanadium Carbide (VC) powder and 20-60 weight % of Cobalt (Co) powder out of a total of 100 weight %, wherein the VC powder and Co powder have a particle diameter of 100 μm or less, respectively. A molded material is then obtained by packing the powder mixture into a mold and then pressing it. Finally, the molded material is sintered at below 1500° C., wherein the molded and sintered material has a specific gravity of less or equal to seven.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for making a blade material manufactured thereby, comprising the steps of:
preparing a powder mixture having 40-80 weight % of Vanadium Carbide (VC) powder and 20-60 weight % of Cobalt (Co) powder out of a total of 100 weight %, wherein said VC powder and Co powder have a particle diameter of 100 μm or less, respectively; obtaining a molded material by packing said powder mixture into a mold and then pressing said powder mixture; and sintering said molded material at below 1500° C., wherein said molded and sintered material has a specific gravity of less or equal to seven.
2 . The method as defined in claim 1 , further comprising the step of adding silver powder at 0.3-3.0 weight % to said powder mixture in relation to the total weight of said powder mixture.
3 . The method as defined in claim 1 , further comprising the step of adding Titanium (Ti) or Ti alloy powder at 30 or less weight % to said powder mixture in relation to the total weight of said powder mixture.
4 . The method as defined in claim 1 , further comprising the step of adding diamond particles or Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) particles of 100 μm or less at 15 or less weight % to said powder mixture in relation to the total weight of said powder mixture.
5 . A blade material manufactured by said method for making a blade described in claims 1 to 4 .Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
