Abstract
A dataconferencing system comprises an imaging device adapted to generate an image of a document. The system also comprises a light source adapted to generate light proximate to the document for generating the image. A monitor application accessible by a processor is adapted to detect a change corresponding to the document. A lighting application accessible by the processor is adapted to automatically activate the light source in response to the detected change.

47 . A dataconferencing system, comprising:
a monitor application adapted to compare at least two images of a document; a lighting application adapted to automatically activate a light source to direct light toward the document if differences between the compared images exceed a variation criterion; and an imaging device adapted to generate a transmittal image of the document using the light generated by the light source, the transmittal image having a resolution greater than a resolution of at least one of the compared images.
48 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the lighting application is adapted to activate a constant light source in response to exceeding a predetermined frequency of transmittal image generation.
49 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the light source comprises a strobe light.
50 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the lighting application is adapted to control a frequency of light source activation.
51 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the lighting application is adapted to synchronize generation of the transmittal image by the imaging device with activation of the light source.
52 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the at least two compared images are generated using ambient light.
53 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the differences between the at least two compared images correspond to a change to the document.
54 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the light source comprises a variable intensity light source.
55 . A dataconferencing method, comprising:
comparing at least two images of a document; automatically activating a light source to direct light toward the document if differences between the compared images exceed a variation criterion; and generating a transmittal image of the document using the light generated by the light source, the transmittal image having a resolution greater than a resolution of at least one of the compared images.
56 . The method of claim 55 , wherein automatically activating the light source comprises automatically activating a constant light source in response to exceeding a predetermined frequency of transmittal image generation.
57 . The method of claim 55 , wherein automatically activating the light source comprises automatically activating a strobe light.
58 . The method of claim 55 , further comprising controlling a frequency of light source activation.
59 . The method of claim 55 , further comprising synchronizing generation of the transmittal image with activation of the light source.
60 . The method of claim 55 , wherein automatically activating the light source comprises automatically activating the light source in response to detecting a change to the document.
61 . A dataconferencing system, comprising:
means for comparing at least two images of a document; means for automatically activating a light source to direct light toward the document if differences between the compared images exceed a variation criterion; and means for generating a transmittal image of the document using the light generated by the light source, the transmittal image having a resolution greater than a resolution of at least one of the compared images.
62 . The system of claim 61 , further comprising means for synchronizing generation of the transmittal image with activation of the light source.
63 . The system of claim 61 , further comprising means for activating a constant light source in response to exceeding a predetermined frequency of transmittal image generation.
64 . The system of claim 61 , further comprising means for controlling a frequency of light source activation.
65 . The system of claim 61 , wherein the means for comparing comprises means for detecting a change made to the document.
66 . A dataconferencing system, comprising:
a monitor application adapted to detect a change associated with a document; a lighting application adapted to automatically increase an intensity of a light source directing light toward the document in response to detecting the change; and an imaging device adapted to generate a transmittal image of the document using the increased intensity light generated by the light source.
67 . The system of claim 66 , wherein the monitor application is adapted to detect the change by comparing at least two images of the document.
68 . The system of claim 66 , wherein the monitor application is adapted to detect the change to the document using ambient light.
69 . The system of claim 66 , wherein the change associated with the document comprises a change made to the document.
