Knitwear hanger
Abstract
A hanger for a garment, including a knitwear garment, has a body portion with a hook member extending upward, and two arms extending outward from the body portion in opposing directions from one another. At least one arm has a substantially contiguous garment supporting surface on an upwardly facing side, the garment supporting surface having a plurality of locking cells along a first lateral edge of the upwardly facing side. The garment hanger may be a molded plastic garment hanger, and may be enhanced by molding a portion of the upwardly facing side from a non-slip material in a co-extrusion process.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A hanger for a garment comprising:
a body portion having a hook member extending upward; two arms extending outward from the body portion in opposing directions from one another; wherein a first arm has a substantially contiguous garment supporting surface on an upwardly facing side, and further comprising a first plurality of locking cells along a first lateral edge of the upwardly facing side.
2 . The hanger according to claim 1 wherein said locking cells comprise concave depressions.
3 . The hanger according to claim 1 further comprising a second plurality of locking cells along a second lateral edge of the upwardly facing side.
4 . The hanger according to claim 1 wherein a second arm has a substantially contiguous garment supporting surface on an upwardly facing side, and further comprising a second plurality of locking cells along a second lateral edge of the upwardly facing side.
5 . The hanger according to claim 1 wherein the upwardly facing side comprises an arcuate surface.
6 . The hanger according to claim 1 further comprising a non-slip insert forming part of the upwardly facing side of the first arm.
7 . The hanger according to claim 6 , wherein the non-slip insert is embedded into the first arm.
8 . The hanger according to claim 6 , wherein at least the garment-supporting surface is formed by the non-slip insert.
9 . The hanger according to claim 6 , wherein at least the locking cells are formed by the non-slip insert.
10 . The hanger according to claim 6 , wherein at least the garment supporting surface and the locking cells are formed by the non-slip insert.
11 . The hanger according to claim 6 , wherein the hanger is a molded plastic hanger, and the non-slip insert is formed on the hanger by a co-extrusion process.
12 . The hanger according to claim 1 , wherein each arm has a downward curvature proximate a distal end thereof.
13 . The hanger according to claim 1 , wherein the first plurality of locking cells extends substantially to a distal end of said arm.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
