Abstract

A cosmetic or pharmaceutical preparation comprising licochalcone A and phenoxyethanol. This Abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

1 . An active substance combination comprising: 
 (a) at least one of licochalcone A and an extract of  radix glycyrrhizae inflatae  that comprises licochalcone A,    (b) phenoxyethanol, and    (c) optionally, glycerin.    
     
     
         2 . The active substance combination of  claim 1 , wherein a weight ratio (A:B:C) is a:b:c, where a, b and c independently of one another represent rational numbers of from about 0.001 to about 200, and 
 A represents licochalcone A    B represents phenoxyethanol    C represents glycerin.    
     
     
         3 . The active substance combination of  claim 2 , wherein a, b and c independently of one another represent rational numbers of up to about 10.  
     
     
         4 . The active substance combination of  claim 2 , wherein a weight ratio (B+C)/(A*100) is from about 0.5 to about 5,000.  
     
     
         5 . The active substance combination of  claim 3 , wherein a weight ratio (B+C)/(A*100) is from about 0.1 to about 1,000.  
     
     
         6 . The active substance combination of  claim 4 , wherein a weight ratio (B+C)/(A*100) is from about 1 to about 1,000.  
     
     
         7 . A cosmetic or dermatological preparation which comprises an effective amount of the active substance combination of  claim 1 .  
     
     
         8 . The preparation of  claim 7 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.0005% to about 50% by weight of the active substance combination.  
     
     
         9 . The preparation of  claim 8 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.01% to about 20% by weight of the active substance combination.  
     
     
         10 . The preparation of  claim 7 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.0001% to about 5% by weight of licochalcone A.  
     
     
         11 . The preparation of  claim 10 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.001% to about 1% by weight of licochalcone A.  
     
     
         12 . The preparation of  claim 11 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.005% to about 0.5% by weight of licochalcone A.  
     
     
         13 . The preparation of  claim 8 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.001% to about 5% by weight of phenoxyethanol.  
     
     
         14 . The preparation of  claim 10 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.01% to about 2% by weight of phenoxyethanol.  
     
     
         15 . The preparation of  claim 11 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.1% to about 0.5% by weight of phenoxyethanol.  
     
     
         16 . The preparation of  claim 8 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.001% to about 30% by weight of glycerin.  
     
     
         17 . The preparation of  claim 10 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.01% to about 15% by weight of glycerin.  
     
     
         18 . The preparation of  claim 12 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.01% to about 15% by weight of glycerin.  
     
     
         19 . The preparation of  claim 14 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 1% to about 8% by weight of glycerin.  
     
     
         20 . The preparation of  claim 8 , wherein the preparation further comprises from about 0.001% to about 20% by weight of one or more polyols.  
     
     
         21 . The preparation of  claim 10 , wherein the preparation further comprises from about 0.01% to about 10% by weight of one or more polyols.  
     
     
         22 . The preparation of  claim 11 , wherein the preparation further comprises from about 0.05% to about 5% by weight of one or more polyols.  
     
     
         23 . A cosmetic or dermatological preparation which comprises an effective amount of the active substance combination of  claim 2 .  
     
     
         24 . A cosmetic or dermatological preparation which comprises an effective amount of the active substance combination of  claim 4 .  
     
     
         25 . A cosmetic or dermatological preparation which comprises an effective amount of the active substance combination of  claim 6 .  
     
     
         26 . A cosmetic or dermatological preparation which comprises from about 0.01% to about 20% by weight of an active substance combination comprising: 
 (a) at least one of licochalcone A and an extract of  radix glycyrrhizae inflatae  that comprises licochalcone A,    (b) phenoxyethanol, and    (c) optionally, glycerin.    
     
     
         27 . The preparation of  claim 26 , wherein a weight ratio (A:B:C) is a:b:c, where a, b and c independently of one another represent rational numbers of from about 0.001 to about 10, and 
 A represents licochalcone A    B represents phenoxyethanol    C represents glycerin.    
     
     
         28 . The preparation of  claim 27 , wherein a weight ratio (B+C)/(A*100) is from about 0.5 to about 1,000.  
     
     
         29 . The preparation of  claim 28 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.001% to about 1% by weight of licochalcone A.  
     
     
         30 . The preparation of  claim 26 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.005% to about 0.5% by weight of licochalcone A.  
     
     
         31 . The preparation of  claim 29 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.01% to about 2% by weight of phenoxyethanol.  
     
     
         32 . The preparation of  claim 30 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.1% to about 0.5% by weight of phenoxyethanol.  
     
     
         33 . The preparation of  claim 27 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.001% to about 30% by weight of glycerin.  
     
     
         34 . The preparation of  claim 30 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 0.01% to about 15% by weight of glycerin.  
     
     
         35 . The preparation of  claim 31 , wherein the preparation comprises from about 1% to about 8% by weight of glycerin.
