Secure guest check presentation device

Abstract

A secure billfold for facilitating a service establishment transaction, comprising two symmetrical panels each having four sides with walls extending from each side to form an interior portion; wherein the walls are of sufficient depth to securely contain a credit card, guest check and writing implement, and have edges which meet when the billfold is closed. The panels are attached together such that the billfold opens and closes easily and includes at least one fastener for securely closing said panels. In a specific embodiment a guest check presentation device is provided comprising a closable container having a cover region fold ably connected to a base region and at least one closure means for securely fastening the cover and base regions. At least one credit card receiving aperture is present in an edge of either the cover or base and at least one credit card holder is affixed to the interior of the either the cover or base in proximity to the card receiving aperture. The guest check presentation device enables a patron or the staff of a service establishment to securely contain a guest check, receipt, credit card, writing implement, loose change and the like and transport it safely between the register station and the guest's location.

1 . A secure billfold for facilitating a service establishment transaction, comprising: 
 two symmetrical panels each having four sides with walls extending from each side to form an interior portion; wherein said walls are of sufficient depth to securely contain a credit card, guest check and writing implement, and have edges which meet when the billfold is closed;    an attachment means for attaching said panels together such that the billfold opens and closes easily; and    at least one fastener for securely closing said panels.    
   
   
       2 . The secure billfold according to  claim 1 , further comprising at least one credit card receiving aperture in at least one of said walls to secure and display a credit card.  
   
   
       3 . The secure billfold according to  claim 1 , further comprising at least one credit card holder affixed to said interior of at least one of said panels in proximity to said credit card receiving aperture.  
   
   
       4 . The secure billfold according to  claim 1 , wherein said interior portion of said panels further comprises a soft durable liner material.  
   
   
       5 . The secure billfold according to  claim 1 , wherein said interior portion of at least one of said panels has at least one receipt flap or holder.  
   
   
       6 . The secure billfold according to  claim 1 , wherein said attachment means is selected from the group consisting of hinges, spring action, bendable metal flaps, plastic flaps, tape, and any other device to attach the panels together on one side.  
   
   
       7 . The secure billfold according to  claim 1 , wherein said panels, said walls and said edges are comprised of a material selected from the group consisting of metal, wood, plastic, leather, rubber, vinyl, reinforced fabric, corrugated paper and paperboard.  
   
   
       8 . The secure billfold according to  claim 1 , wherein said fastener is on at least one of said edges or said walls and is selected from the group consisting of magnets, friction closures, hook and loop closures, ball and clasp closures, hasps, zippers, and push and lock buttons.

The secure billfold according to  claim 8 , wherein said fastener is comprised of at least one pair of magnets, where one magnet is affixed to one of said edges or one of said walls of one of said panels, and the second magnet is affixed to the other panel in a polar opposite configuration to secure the billfold when folded closed.  
   
   
       10 . The secure billfold according to  claim 9 , wherein said magnets are affixed to the interior of said walls.  
   
   
       11 . The secure billfold according to  claim 9 , wherein said magnets are beneath said liner material.  
   
   
       12 . The secure billfold according to  claim 9 , wherein said magnets are embedded in said edges.  
   
   
       13 . The secure billfold according to  claim 1 , further comprising an aperture in at least one of said walls for applying pressure between said panels to open the billfold.  
   
   
       14 . The secure billfold according to  claim 1 , wherein said panels are of rectangular construction.  
   
   
       15 . A guest check presentation device to facilitate a secure transaction between a patron and a service establishment comprising: 
 a closable container having a cover region foldably connected to a base region, wherein said cover region and said base region have an interior portion;    at least one closure means for securely fastening said cover and base regions; and    at least one opening means.    
   
   
       16 . The guest check presentation device according to  claim 15 , further comprising at least one credit card receiving aperture in either said cover or said base to secure and display a credit card.  
   
   
       17 . The guest check presentation device according to  claim 15 , wherein said interior portion further comprises a soft durable liner material.  
   
   
       18 . The guest check presentation device according to  claim 15 , wherein said interior portion of either said cover or said base has at least one receipt flap or holder.  
   
   
       19 . The guest check presentation device according to  claim 15 , wherein said interior portion of either said cover or said base has at least one credit card holder in close proximity to said credit card receiving aperture.  
   
   
       20 . The guest check presentation device according to  claim 15 , wherein said container is of rectangular construction and comprised of a material selected from the group consisting of metal, wood, plastic, leather, rubber, vinyl, reinforced fabric, corrugated paper and paperboard.

The guest check presentation device according to  claim 15 , wherein said closure means for securely fastening said cover and said base regions is selected from the group consisting of magnets, friction closures, hook and loop closures, ball and clasp closures, hasps, zippers and push and lock buttons.

The guest check presentation device according to  claim 21 , wherein said closure means for securely fastening said cover and said base regions is comprised of at least one pair of magnets, where one magnet is affixed to said cover region, and the second magnet is affixed to said base in a polar opposite configuration to secure said container when folded closed.  
   
   
       23 . The guest check presentation device according to  claim 22 , wherein said magnets are affixed to the interior portion of said cover and said base.  
   
   
       24 . The guest check presentation device according to  claim 22 , wherein said magnets are beneath said liner material.  
   
   
       25 . The guest check presentation device according to  claim 15 , wherein said opening means is an aperture in either said cover or said base for applying pressure to open the device.
