Claims
Abstract
In-line roller skate comprising a skate boot having an upper for enclosing and supporting a human foot; a chassis carrying a plurality of aligned wheels; and an outsole covering the bottom portion of the upper. The outsole has a heel portion with a cavity and an insert in the cavity for reducing shocks and vibrations transferred from the chassis to the human foot. The skate also comprises a resilient member mounted between the front portion of the skate boot and the front portion of the chassis.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An in-line roller skate comprising:
(a) a skate boot comprising an upper for enclosing and supporting a human foot, said upper comprising a bottom portion; (b) a chassis carrying a plurality of aligned wheels, said chassis having front and rear portions; (c) an outsole covering said bottom portion of said upper, said outsole comprising a heel portion having a cavity; (d) an insert mounted in said cavity for reducing shocks and vibrations transferred from said chassis to the human foot; and (e) a resilient member mounted between a front portion of said skate boot and said front portion of said chassis.
2 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 1 , wherein said heel portion comprises a fork-like structure having upper and lower platforms defining said cavity in which said insert is mounted.
3 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 2 , wherein said insert is made of a deformable elastomer material.
4 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 3 , wherein said upper platform and said lower platform branch out from an intersecting portion of said fork-like structure, said upper platform and said lower platform being adapted to flex at said intersecting portion for compressing said insert when one of said aligned wheels abuts an obstacle.
5 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 3 , wherein said chassis comprises a bridge portion connecting said front portion of said chassis and wherein said resilient member rests on said bridge portion.
6 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 5 , wherein said outsole comprises a rear mounting bracket extending downwardly from said lower platform for mounting said outsole to said rear portion of said chassis.
7 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 6 , wherein said rear mounting bracket comprises an aperture extending perpendicularly relative to a longitudinal axis of said skate.
8 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 7 , wherein said outsole comprises front mounting brackets extending downwardly from a front portion of said outsole for mounting said outsole to said front portion of said chassis.
9 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 8 , wherein said front mounting brackets comprises co-axial apertures.
10 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 3 , wherein said insert comprises at least one air pocket.
11 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 3 , wherein said insert comprises a central portion and a peripheral portion, said central portion being thinner than said peripheral portion.
12 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 3 , wherein said insert comprises a bulging central portion.
13 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 3 , wherein said insert comprises a plurality of holes.
14 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 3 , wherein said boot comprises a midsole enclosed between said bottom portion of said upper and said front portion of said outsole.
15 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 7 , wherein said chassis comprises two sidewalls with co-axial apertures at said rear portion of said chassis, said co-axial apertures being aligned with said aperture of said rear mounting bracket.
16 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 15 , wherein said skate comprises a rear fastener passing through said aperture of said rear mounting bracket and said co-axial apertures of said sidewalls.
17 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 16 , wherein said rear fastener comprises a bolt and a nut.
18 . An in-line roller skate comprising:
(a) a skate boot comprising a front mounting bracket with co-axial apertures and an upper for enclosing and supporting a human foot, said upper comprising a bottom portion; (b) a chassis carrying a plurality of aligned wheels, said chassis having front and rear portions, said front portion comprising a vertical slot; (c) an outsole covering said bottom portion of said upper, said outsole comprising a heel portion having a cavity; (d) an insert mounted in said cavity for reducing shocks and vibrations transferred from said chassis to the human foot; (e) a resilient member mounted between a front portion of said skate boot and said front portion of said chassis; and (f) a front fastener passing through said co-axial apertures and said vertical slot such that said front portion of said chassis can move towards said front portion of said skate boot by squeezing said resilient member.
19 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 18 , wherein said heel portion comprises a fork-like structure having upper and lower platforms defining said cavity in which said insert is mounted.
20 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 19 , wherein said insert is made of a deformable elastomer material.
21 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 20 , wherein said upper platform and said lower platform branch out from an intersecting portion of said fork-like structure, said upper platform and said lower platform being adapted to flex at said intersecting portion for compressing said insert when one of said aligned wheels abuts an obstacle.
22 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 20 , wherein said chassis comprises a bridge portion connecting said front portion of said chassis and wherein said resilient member rests on said bridge portion.
23 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 20 , wherein said outsole comprises a rear mounting bracket extending downwardly from said lower platform for mounting said outsole to said rear portion of said chassis.
24 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 23 , wherein said rear mounting bracket comprises an aperture extending perpendicularly relative to a longitudinal axis of said skate.
25 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 20 , wherein said front mounting brackets extend downwardly from a front portion of said outsole for mounting said outsole to said front portion of said chassis.
26 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 20 , wherein said insert comprises at least one air pocket.
27 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 20 , wherein said insert comprises a central portion and a peripheral portion, said central portion being thinner than said peripheral portion.

32 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 31 , wherein said skate comprises a rear fastener passing through said aperture of said rear mounting bracket and said co-axial apertures of said sidewalls.
33 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 32 , wherein said rear fastener comprises a bolt and a nut.
34 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 20 , wherein said resilient member is made of rubber.

An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 3 , wherein said skate boot comprises a front mounting brackets having co-axial apertures, said chassis comprises two sidewalls having a vertical slots at said front portion of said chassis and said skate comprises a front fastener passing through said co-axial apertures and said vertical slots such that said front portion of said chassis can move towards said front portion of said skate boot by squeezing said resilient member.
36 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 35 , wherein said front mounting brackets extend downwardly from a front portion of said outsole for mounting said outsole to said front portion of said chassis.
37 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 36 , wherein said two sidewalls comprise a bridge portion connecting them at said front portion of said chassis and wherein said resilient member rests on said bridge portion.
38 . An in-line roller skate as defined in claim 37 , wherein said outsole comprises a rear mounting bracket extending downwardly from said lower platform for mounting said outsole to said rear portion of said chassis.
