Solar screen articles and methods thereof

Abstract

Solar screen articles substantially comprising solar screen material provide thermal insulation, UV protection and one-way visibility. Solar screen articles include umbrella covers, swamp cooler covers, fluid container covers, shelters, baby strollers, baby trailers, glass pane protectors, convertible tops, sun visors and hats. Typically the solar screen material is coupled to a frame assembly to assemble the solar screen articles. Spacers between portions of an article to be covered with the solar screen material may be used to provide improved insulation.

A solar screen article comprising, in combination: a solar screen material coupled to a frame assembly, said solar screen article selected from the group consisting of an umbrella cover, a swamp cooler cover, a fluid container cover, a shelter cover, a compartment, a pane protector, a convertible top, a sun visor and a hat, said solar screen material providing at least thermal insulation, UV protection and one-way visibility for a user of the solar screen article.  
     
     
         2 . The solar screen article according to  claim 1  further comprising a plurality of spacers located between a portion of a surface of said solar screen material and a portion of a surface of the solar screen article, said plurality of spacers providing enhanced thermal insulation.  
     
     
         3 . The solar screen article according to  claim 1  wherein said solar screen material comprising said umbrella cover for an umbrella coupled to said frame assembly and said frame assembly coupled to a handle configured to provide said umbrella.  
     
     
         4 . The solar screen article according to  claim 2  wherein said solar screen material comprising said swamp cooler cover coupled to said frame assembly, said swamp cooler cover for enclosing a swamp cooler providing enhanced thermal insulation and greater cooling efficiency for said swamp cooler.  
     
     
         5 . The solar screen article according to  claim 2  wherein said solar screen material comprising said fluid container cover coupled to said frame assembly for enclosing a fluid container, said fluid container cover providing enhanced thermal insulation for a fluid inside said fluid container.  
     
     
         6 . The solar screen article according to  claim 5  wherein said fluid container is a canteen.  
     
     
         7 . The solar screen article according to  claim 1  wherein said solar screen material comprising said shelter cover for a shelter coupled to said frame assembly, said shelter cover and said frame assembly coupled to a plurality of ropes coupled to a plurality of stakes embedded in a ground support and a portion of said shelter cover having a plurality of openings configured for a plurality of windows and at least a door of said shelter.  
     
     
         8 . The solar screen article according to  claim 7  wherein said shelter cover is a tent.  
     
     
         9 . The solar screen article according to  claim 1  wherein a portion of a baby stroller comprising said compartment, said compartment comprising solar screen material, said baby stroller further comprising a frame assembly coupled to said compartment, said frame assembly having a plurality of wheels and a handle assembly for pushing said baby stroller and said compartment having a plurality of window panes for observing a baby inside said compartment.  
     
     
         10 . The solar screen article according to  claim 1  wherein a portion of a baby trailer comprising said compartment, said compartment comprising said solar screen material, said baby trailer further comprising a frame assembly having at least a pair of wheels coupled to said compartment, said frame assembly selectively coupled to a portion of a bicycle configured so that said baby trailer is towed by said portion of said bicycle and said compartment having a plurality of window panes for observing a baby inside said compartment.  
     
     
         11 . The solar screen article according to  claim 1  wherein a portion of said pane protector comprises a portion of a pane coupled to a portion of said solar screen material and said solar screen material selectively coupled to a frame assembly, said pane protector configured as said sunroof top of a vehicle.  
     
     
         12 . The solar screen article according to  claim 1  wherein a portion of said pane protector comprises a portion of said solar screen material located between portions of a pair of panes, a surface of said solar screen material coupled to a surface of one of said pair of panes and an opposite surface of said solar screen material coupled to a surface of another one of said pair of panes.  
     
     
         13 . The solar screen article according to  claim 12  wherein each one of said pair of panes comprises a substantially transparent material.  
     
     
         14 . The solar screen article according to  claim 1  wherein said convertible top for a vehicle comprises said solar screen material coupled to said frame assembly, said frame assembly shaped according to the type of vehicle for coupling said convertible top to said vehicle.  
     
     
         15 . The solar screen article according to  claim 1  wherein said sun visor comprises said solar screen material, said sun visor protecting a wearer's eyes from the glare of the sun and acting as a thermal insulator for a wearer's face around the wearer's eye area.  
     
     
         16 . The solar screen article according to  claim 1  wherein said hat comprises said solar screen material, said hat protecting a wearer from heat exposure in hot weather and from thermal losses in cooler weather.  
     
     
         17 . The solar screen article according to  claim 16  wherein said hat is wide-brimmed.  
     
     
         18 . The solar screen article according to  claim 16  wherein said hat is conically shaped.  
     
     
         19 . A method for assembling a solar screen article comprising the steps of: providing a solar screen material, said solar screen article selected from the group consisting of an umbrella cover, a swamp cooler cover, a fluid container cover, a shelter cover, a compartment, a pane protector, a convertible top, a sun visor and a hat; and coupling said solar screen material to a frame assembly, said solar screen material achieving at least thermal insulation, UV protection and one-way visibility for a user of the solar screen article.  
     
     
         20 . The method for assembling a solar screen article according to  claim 19  further comprising the step of: providing a plurality of spacers located between a portion of a surface of said solar screen material and a portion of a surface of the solar screen article, said plurality of spacers achieving enhanced thermal insulation.
