Abstract
Accessing web sites on which the user has an account and providing notification of changes at the site, and improved electronic mail management is provided, allowing all email to be collected and forwarded from a central site to other email addresses or allowing for the user to view the email at the central site. The user may assign individual email addresses to any number of uses, for example, an individual email address for use in communicating with a particular commercial web site.

detecting one or more events from a plurality of sites; and presenting information about the one or more events to a user, the information being organized according to one or more relationships between the user and the plurality of sites.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the sites is coupled to a network.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information is presented to the user via a network.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information is presented to the user as an alert.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information presented to the user includes a link to at least one of the sites.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information is presented to the user during use of a browser by the user.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information is presented to the user after detecting an access by the user to a specified site.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information is presented to the user after receipt of a request from the user.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information presented to the user includes aggregated information about a plurality of events associated with one of the sites.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more events comprises a change in a status of an account associated with the user.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information comprises a summary of the one or more events.
12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more events comprises receipt of a message from one of the sites.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising: generating an address associated with the user and one of the sites, and providing the address to the associated site, and wherein the message is sent by the associated site utilizing the address.
14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more events comprises an event from a site with which the user performed a transaction.
15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information presented to the user includes temporal information about a last visit.
16 . A system for presenting information, comprising:
an application for detecting one or more events from a plurality of sites and for presenting information about the one or more events to a user; and wherein the information is organized according to one or more relationships between the user and the plurality of sites.
17 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the application and at least one of the sites is coupled to a network.
18 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the information comprises a summary of the one or more events.
19 . A computer program product for presenting information, comprising:
computer code for detecting one or more events from a plurality of sites; and computer code for presenting information about the one or more events to a user, the information being organized according to one or more relationships between the user and the plurality of sites.
