Abstract

A packaging material comprising a plurality of flexible strips of material integrally interconnected to one another along one end thereof so as to form a unitary mass and so that the strips of material are intertwineable with one another to form a resilient tuft. The strips of material interconnected via a border have a bonding material disposed thereon for bondingly connecting the packaging material to a container.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A package, comprising:
a container; a packaging material comprising a flexible sheet of material having a slit portion and a border portion, the slit portion have a plurality of slits extending from the border portion to at least one edge of the sheet of material such that the sheet of material has a plurality of strips of material interconnected to one another by the border portion, the packaging material positioned in the container with the border portion secured to the container.

2 . The package of claim 1 wherein a first set of slits extends to one edge of the sheet of material and wherein a second set of slits extends to an opposing edge of the sheet of material.

3 . The package of claim 2 wherein the slits of the first set of slits are formed parallel to one another and wherein the slits of the second set of slits are formed parallel to one another.

       4 . A package, comprising:
a container; a packaging material comprising a flexible sheet of material having a slit portion and a border portion, the slit portion have a plurality of slits extending from the border portion to at least one edge of the sheet of material such that the sheet of material has a plurality of strips of material interconnected to one another by the border portion, the packaging material positioned in the container with the border portion secured to the container; and an article positioned in the container and on the packaging material.

5 . The package of claim 4 wherein a first set of slits extends to one edge of the sheet of material and wherein a second set of slits extends to an opposing edge of the sheet of material.

6 . The package of claim 5 wherein the slits of the first set of slits are formed parallel to one another and wherein the slits of the second set of slits are formed parallel to one another.
