Portable, waterproof case for storing items

Abstract

A lightweight, portable, waterproof storage case for placement on or about the neck, arm, ankle, wrist or waist of an individual involved in outdoor activities includes a storage case body defining an interior chamber wherein personal items and effects can be held and a secondary storage compartment adjoined to the storage case body and of a smaller dimension for receiving and holding therein paper items such as amusement park passes, a driver's license or credit cards. In addition, a lid is pivotally attached to the body of the storage case for waterproof sealing of the chamber from the external environment, and the lid is sealably fastened to the storage case body by a closure member. The storage case can be attached to the individual's neck, arm, ankle, wrist or waist, or an article of clothing, by a cord or lanyard, a flexible strap, or a side waist clip.

1 . A lightweight, portable, waterproof storage case, comprising: 
 a storage case body having a side wall, a closed bottom portion and an open upper end;    the storage case body further defining an interior storage chamber;    a secondary storage compartment adjoined to the side wall of the storage case body;    a lid pivotally attached to the storage case body for selective securement to the upper end of the storage case body in order to seal the interior storage chamber from the external environment; and    attachment means so that the storage case can be carried by the individual during outdoor physical activities.    
   
   
       2 . The storage case of  claim 1  wherein the attachment means includes a cord attached to the storage case and capable of placement about the neck, wrist, ankle and arm of the individual.  
   
   
       3 . The storage case of  claim 2  wherein the attachment means includes a side waist clip mounted to the side wall of the storage case and capable of removable securement to the belt and waist band of the article of clothing worn by the individual.  
   
   
       4 . The storage case of  claim 3  wherein the attachment means includes a flexible strap connected to the storage case and capable of placement about the waist of the individual.  
   
   
       5 . A portable, lightweight, waterproof storage case for holding personal items and effects and carried by the individual during outdoor physical activities, comprising: 
 a storage case body having a side wall, a closed bottom portion, and an open upper end;    the storage case body further defining an interior storage chamber for receiving and holding therein the personal items and effects of the individual;    a secondary storage compartment adjoined to the side wall of the storage case body for holding therein personal items and effects that are planar and rectangular in shape;    a lid pivotally attached to the side wall for selective securement to the upper end of the storage case body for sealing the interior storage chamber from the external environment and protecting the physical integrity of the personal items and effects contained within the interior storage chamber; and    attachment means extending from the storage case so that the storage case can be carried by the individual during outdoor activities.    
   
   
       6 . The storage case of  claim 5  wherein the attachment means includes a cord extending from the lid and capable of placement about the neck, arm, and wrist of the individual.  
   
   
       7 . The storage case of  claim 6  wherein the attachment means includes a side waist clip extending from the side wall of the storage case body and capable of removable securement to the belt and waist band of the article of clothing worn by the individual.  
   
   
       8 . The storage case of  claim 7  wherein the attachment means includes a flexible strap extending from the storage case and capable of placement about the waist of the individual.
