DispoTops, plastic disposable trashcan top

Abstract

The “plastic disposable trash can top”, namely the “DispoTop”, was invented to resolve the many problems which result from the loss of trash can tops. With this invention, a missing or lost trash can top can be replaced at minimal cost to the consumer. By simply stretching and placing the elastic bottom of my device over the top of the trash can in place of the missing lid, eliminates and resolves many environmental and safety hazards. Its' usage results in helping to keep a cleaner, safer and more sanitary environment. Never has there been a replacement cover for a trash can. Also this invention can protect different outside items from certain climatic conditions. Because of the material and structure of this invention, it is very versatile and appropriate for its uses.

1 . I claim that the “disposable plastic trash can top” is my Idea and invention being that there is nothing made for the reasons that I stated for it's particular uses. Being in situations myself through the years and having to deal with losing my trash can tops along with my neighbors, seeing the consequences of neglect that occurs when trash Is left uncovered frustrated me into thinking of a way to remedy those problems.  
   
   
       2 . Seeing people looking around for blown away trash can tops and becoming suspicious of each other when they'd see a lid that could possibly be theirs, trash being blown about and at night the sound of trash cans being turned over by animals searching for food and some of these could have been rats being lured closer to homes caused me to know that something should and has to be done.  
   
   
       3 . There is nowhere on the market a product that claims to have been made to address these issues or provide the solutions to these issues that my invention will be able to provide. My invention was specifically developed to address these before said problems and situations.  
   
   
       4 . I have looked around at topless trash cans where birds and other animals have pulled the food out of the trash cans and had sprawled the contents everywhere or simply just standing over it eating. I've seen maggots crawling inside trash cans and all over the ground and smelled the stench, all because of a lost, stolen or damaged trash can top. Week after week the same topless trash cans are put out on trash days (I'm as guilty as any other) with no sign of a solution. On rainy days the sanitation workers have to pickup trash cans that are heavier because of the rain added to the weight and the possibility of getting wet in the process. Cardboard boxes that are used to pack items for charities can be covered if there is a call for wet weather.  
   
   
       5 . My invention has preempted anything of it's kind. There have been no TV ads nor advertisements of any kind that offers any product that addresses the problems and resolves any of the situations that I have stated that my invention has the ability to resolve. For these reasons I claim sole ownership of my invention because of it's uniqueness and novelty.  
   
   
       6 . The Dispotop will be found to be able to cover many other items to protect them in certain situations. Because of the materials used to make it, it will be found to be very versatile.
