Tangle-free umbrella grip

Abstract

An umbrella grip includes an elastic string protruding outwardly from the grip to form a loop portion for carrying or hanging purpose; and the elastic string made of elastic materials and capable of being resiliently wound and engaged with at least a groove circumferentially recessed in an outer surface of an extension wall of the grip, whereby when the use of the string is not desired, the loop portion of the string may be fastened and engaged in the groove of the grip to prevent from tangling with other articles when stored in a bag or purse.

An umbrella grip comprising: a grip connected with a central shaft to form an umbrella; an elastic string operatively protruded outwardly from the grip to form a loop portion for carrying or hanging purpose; and the elastic string made of elastic materials and resiliently wound and engaged with at least a groove circumferentially recessed in an outer surface of an extension wall of the grip, whereby when the use of the string is not desired, the loop portion of the string will be fastened and engaged in the groove of the grip to prevent from tangling with other articles when stored in a bag.  
   
   
       2 . An umbrella grip according to  claim 1 , wherein said grip includes a first groove and a second groove juxtapositionally and circumferentially recessed in an outer surface of the extension wall of the grip about a longitudinal axis defined at a longitudinal center of the grip and the central shaft for winding said string in said grooves; said two grooves approximating an end plate of the grip; and the extension wall protruded circumferentially from the end plate to define an interior within the extension wall and formed as a shape selected from the group consisting of cylindrical shape, spherical shape, rectangular shape and polygonal shapes.

An umbrella grip according to  claim 2 , wherein said first groove for primarily engaging the string includes a starting groove portion communicated with a first string hole formed through the extension wall for inserting a first end portion of the string through the first string hole to be retained within the extension wall of the grip, and a sloping groove portion formed on an opposite end of the first groove adjacent to and partitioned with the starting groove portion by a sloping shoulder portion coplanar to the outer surface of the grip with the sloping groove portion inclinedly intersecting with the second groove to serve as a guiding portion from the first groove to the second groove juxtapositioned to the first groove for guiding the elastic string, as wound in the first groove, from the first groove to the second groove.

An umbrella grip according to  claim 3 , wherein said second groove, juxtapositioned to the first groove for continuously engaging the string following a string portion as engaged in the first groove, is communicated with a second string hole which is formed in the second groove opposite and adjacent to the first string hole located in the first groove for inserting a second end portion of the string through the second string hole to be retained within the grip.  
   
   
       5 . An umbrella grip according to  claim 3 , wherein said grip further includes a finger cavity recessed in the outer surface of the grip and approximating the sloping shoulder portion for an easy removal of the string, when wound in the grooves, to form a loop portion for carrying or hanging.

An umbrella grip according to  claim 2 , wherein said elastic string as made of stretchable elastic materials has two end portions of the string secured in the grip and having a loop portion protruding outwardly from the grip to serve as a carrying string, with the loop portion having a perimeter smaller than a total length of the two perimeters of the first and second grooves; whereby upon winding and engagement of the loop portion of the string with the first and second grooves, the elasticity of the string will resiliently tightly fasten the loop portion on the first and second grooves without being easily loosened from the two grooves.  
   
   
       7 . An umbrella grip according to  claim 2 , wherein said first groove adjacent to the end plate of the grip for primarily engaging the string includes a starting groove portion communicated with a first string hole formed through the extension wall for inserting a first end portion of the string through the first string hole to be retained within the extension wall of the grip, and a sloping groove portion formed on an opposite end of the first groove and partitioned with the starting groove portion by a semi-peripheral portion with the sloping groove portion inclinedly intersecting with the second groove to serve as a guiding portion from the first groove to the second groove juxtapositioned to the first groove for guiding the elastic string, as wound in the first groove, from the first groove to the second groove.

An umbrella grip according to  claim 7 , wherein said second groove, juxtapositioned to the first groove for continuously engaging the string following a string portion as engaged in the first groove, is communicated with a second string hole which is formed in the second groove diametrically opposite to the first string hole located in the first groove for inserting a second end portion of the string through the second string hole to be retained within the grip; said two string holes defining a line linked therebetween to be intersected with a longitudinal axis defined at the center of the grip.  
   
   
       9 . An umbrella grip according to  claim 1 , wherein said grip is coaxially formed with a central shaft of the umbrella includes a groove circumferentially recessed in an outer surface of an extension wall protruding from an end plate of the grip; and two string holes approximating with each other and juxtapositionally formed in the groove through the extension wall for inserting two end portions of the elastic string through the two string holes to be retained against an inside surface of the extension wall.  
   
   
       10 . An umbrella grip according to  claim 9 , wherein said elastic string is made of stretchable elastic materials having two opposite end portions of said string secured to the grip through the two string holes which are formed in the grip and communicated with the groove; and having a loop portion protruding outwardly from the grip for carrying, with the loop portion having a perimeter smaller than a perimeter of the groove so that the loop portion of the string will be resiliently tightly fastened on the groove of the grip without being easily loosened.  
   
   
       11 . An umbrella grip according to  claim 9 , wherein said extension wall is formed as a shape selected from the group consisting of cylindrical shape, spherical shape, rectangular shape and polygonal shape.
