Roll mount dispenser

Abstract

A roll mount dispenser is adapted to be mounted to a standard roll product fixture, and hold a roll of sheet material, such as a roll of bath tissue radially thereabout. In addition, the roll mount dispenser is configured to hold sheets therein and dispense sheets therefrom. The roll mount dispenser includes a housing configured to extend between a pair of support arms of a roll product fixture. The housing has a compartment configured to hold sheet material. The housing is configured to be disposed through a core positioned through a center of a roll of sheet material. The housing also includes opposite ends, each of which has a protruding member which is configured to fit into a recess in a support arm of a roll product fixture. At least one end of the housing has a dispensing module. The dispensing module is configured to permit sheet material to pass from the housing through the dispensing module and out an exit port. A portion of the dispensing module extends radially away from the housing, and it is positioned adjacent a flat face of a roll. The exit port is positioned in the dispensing module away from the housing such that it is readily accessibly by a user.

1 . A dispenser, comprising: 
 a housing configured to extend between a pair of support arms of a roll product fixture, the housing having a compartment configured to hold sheet material, the housing configured to be disposed through a core positioned through a center of a roll of sheet material, the housing including opposite ends, each end including a protruding member which is configured to fit into a recess in a support arm of a roll product fixture, at least one end of the housing having a dispensing module configured to permit sheet material to pass from the housing through the dispensing module and out an exit port, a portion of the dispensing module extending radially away from the housing and positioned adjacent a flat face of a roll positioned on the center, the exit port positioned in the dispensing module away from the housing such that it is readily accessible by a user.    
   
   
       2 . The dispenser of  claim 1 , wherein the sheet material contained in the compartment is one of dry sheet material and premoistened sheet material.  
   
   
       3 . The dispenser of  claim 2 , wherein the sheet material is contained in a cartridge.  
   
   
       4 . The dispenser of  claim 1 , wherein the dispensing module couples to the housing and wherein the sheets in the housing move from a compartment therein through a chamber in the dispensing module and out of the exit port.  
   
   
       5 . The dispenser of  claim 4 , wherein when a sheet is in the compartment of the housing, the sheet is positioned on a first axis and when the sheet moves into the chamber of the dispensing module it is positioned on a second axis.  
   
   
       6 . The dispenser of  claim 1 , wherein the exit port is covered by a door when in a non-dispensing position and wherein the door is movable to a dispensing position by a user to permit dispensing from the exit port.  
   
   
       7 . The dispenser of  claim 6 , wherein the door is biased into a closed position by one of a spring and a latch.  
   
   
       8 . The dispenser of  claim 1 , wherein a substantial portion of the dispensing module is positioned away from the housing, and wherein the portion of the dispensing module adjacent a flat face of a roll includes a substantially smooth surface thereagainst so that no substantial friction is imposed on the roll.  
   
   
       9 . The dispenser of  claim 1 , wherein a first axis extends through a center of a roll positioned on the dispenser, through a center of the housing, and through opposite ends, each end configured to couple to a recess positioned in a support arm of a fixture.  
   
   
       10 . The dispenser of  claim 9 , wherein a second axis extends through a substantial portion of the dispensing module, and the second axis intersects the first axis.  
   
   
       11 . The dispenser of  claim 10 , wherein the second axis is positioned substantially perpendicular relative to the first axis.  
   
   
       12 . The dispenser of  claim 1 , wherein the dispenser is one of non-refillable and disposable and refillable.  
   
   
       13 . The dispenser of  claim 1 , wherein the dispenser is configured to extend only between support arms, and the dispenser has a length in a range of about 6 inches to about 4 inches.  
   
   
       14 . A dispenser, comprising: 
 a housing configured to extend between a pair of support arms of a roll product fixture, the housing having a compartment configured to hold sheets, the housing configured to be disposed through a core positioned through a center of a roll of sheet material, the housing including opposite ends, each end including a protruding member which is configured to fit into a recess in a support arm of a roll product fixture,    a dispensing module positioned on at least one end of the housing, the dispensing module configured with the housing to permit sheet material to pass from the housing through an exit port, a portion of the dispensing module extending radially away from the housing and positioned adjacent a flat face of a roll positioned on the center, the exit port of the dispensing module positioned away from the housing such that it is readily accessible by a user, such that when the dispenser is coupled to a fixture, a first axis is positioned through a center of the compartment of the dispenser and each end, a core of a roll, and recesses in support arms while the portion of the dispensing module having the exit port therein is positioned on a second axis which intersects the first axis.    
   
   
       15 . The dispenser of  claim 14 , wherein the sheet material contained in the compartment is one of dry sheet material and premoistened sheet material.  
   
   
       16 . The dispenser of  claim 15 , wherein the sheet material is contained in a cartridge.  
   
   
       17 . The dispenser of  claim 14 , wherein the dispensing module couples to the housing and wherein the sheets in the housing move from a compartment therein through a chamber in the dispensing module and out of the exit port.  
   
   
       18 . The dispenser of  claim 17 , wherein when a sheet is in the compartment of the housing, the sheet is positioned on the first axis and when the sheet moves into the chamber of the dispensing module it is positioned on the second axis.  
   
   
       19 . The dispenser of  claim 14 , wherein the exit port is covered by a door when in a non-dispensing position and wherein the door is movable to a dispensing position by a user to permit dispensing from the exit port.  
   
   
       20 . The dispenser of  claim 19 , wherein the door is biased into a closed position by one of a spring and a latch.  
   
   
       21 . The dispenser of  claim 14 , wherein the second axis is positioned substantially perpendicular relative to the first axis.  
   
   
       22 . The dispenser of  claim 14 , wherein the dispenser is one of non-refillable and disposable and refillable.  
   
   
       23 . The dispenser of  claim 14 , wherein the dispenser is configured to extend only between support arms, and the dispenser has a length in a range of about 6 inches to about 4 inches.  
   
   
       24 . A dispenser, comprising: 
 a housing configured to extend between a pair of support arms of a roll product fixture, the housing having a compartment configured to hold sheet material, the housing configured to be disposed through a core positioned through a center of a roll of sheet material, the housing including opposite ends, each end including a protruding member which is configured to fit into a recess in a support arm of a roll product fixture,    a controlling means positioned on at least one end of the housing, the controlling means including a dispensing module carried by the housing to permit sheet material to flow from the housing and out an exit port, a portion of the dispensing module extending radially away from the housing and positioned adjacent a flat face of a roll, the exit port positioned in the dispensing module and positioned away from the housing such that it is readily accessible by a user.    
   
   
       25 . The dispenser of  claim 24 , wherein the sheet material contained in the compartment is one of dry sheet material and premoistened sheet material.  
   
   
       26 . The dispenser of  claim 24 , wherein the sheets in the housing move from a compartment therein through a chamber in the dispensing module and out of the exit port.  
   
   
       27 . The dispenser of  claim 26 , wherein when a sheet is in the compartment of the housing, the sheet is positioned on a first axis and when the sheet moves into the chamber of the dispensing module it is positioned on a second axis.  
   
   
       28 . The dispenser of  claim 24 , wherein the exit port is covered by a door when in a non-dispensing position and wherein the door is movable to a dispensing position by a user to permit dispensing from the exit port.  
   
   
       29 . The dispenser of  claim 24 , wherein a first axis extends through a center of a roll positioned on the dispenser, through a center of the housing, and through opposite ends, each end configured to couple to a recess positioned in a support arm of a fixture.  
   
   
       30 . The dispenser of  claim 29 , wherein a second axis extends through a substantial portion of the controlling means, and the second axis intersects the first axis.  
   
   
       31 . The dispenser of  claim 30 , wherein the second axis is positioned substantially perpendicular relative to the first axis.  
   
   
       32 . The dispenser of  claim 24 , wherein the dispenser is one of non-refillable and disposable and refillable.
