Abstract
A blank has a body with a knitted section and a number of first yarns disposed in a knit direction. The body has an opening and an edge. The edge is between the knitted section and the opening. The edge has a number of second yarns that are elastic. The number of second yarns provide a tension at the edge when worn on a human body.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A blank comprising:
a body having a knitted section with a plurality of first yarns in a knit direction, said body having an opening, wherein said body has an edge between said knitted section and said opening, said edge having a plurality of second yarns being located therein, said plurality of second yarns being elastic, providing a tension at said edge when worn on a human body, and terminating at a knit stitch.
2 . The blank of claim 1 , wherein said knitted section has a first side and a second side opposite said first side, and wherein said plurality of second yarns are on said first side adjacent said edge.
3 . The blank of claim 1 , wherein said knitted section has a first side and a second side, said plurality of second yarns being on said second side adjacent said edge.
4 . The blank of claim 2 , wherein said plurality of second yarns are disposed on both said first side and said second side at said edge.
5 . The blank of claim 1 , wherein said knitted section has a first width and said edge has a second width, said second width being greater than said first width.
6 . The blank of claim 1 , wherein said plurality of second yarns are integrally knit with said plurality of first yarns at said edge.
7 . A blank comprising:
a body having a knitted section with a plurality of first yarns disposed in a knit direction, said body having an opening, wherein said body has an edge between said knitted section and said opening, said edge having said plurality of first yarns terminating a predetermined distance away from said edge so that said edge is formed from a plurality of second yarns that terminate at a knit stitch, said plurality of second yarns being disposed in said knitted direction, said plurality of second yarns being elastic yarns and providing a tension at said edge when worn on a human body.
8 . A blank comprising:
a knitted section having a plurality of first yarns disposed in a knit direction, said knitted section having an aperture, said aperture having a circumference, said circumference being formed by a plurality of second yarns that terminate at a knit stitch, said plurality of second yarns being elastic yarns and providing a tension at said circumference when worn on a human body.
9 . The blank of claim 7 , wherein said plurality of second yarns are made of a material selected from the group consisting of elastic yarns, spandex, a bare elasthane, a nylon elasthane combination, a polyester elasthane combination, a cotton elasthane, and any combinations thereof.
10 . The blank of claim 7 , wherein said aperture is disposed through a portion of a knit panty and is selected from the group consisting of a leg hole, a band, a leg portion, and any combinations thereof.
11 . A blank comprising:
a body having a knitted section with a plurality of first yarns disposed in a knit direction, said body having an aperture, wherein said body has an edge between said aperture and said knitted section, said edge being formed from a plurality of second yarns being elastic yarns that overlap said plurality of first yarns, said plurality of second yarns providing a tension at said edge when worn on a human body and terminate at a knit stitch.
12 . The blank of claim 11 , wherein said knitted section has an outer surface, and wherein said plurality of second yarns are knit into said outer surface.
13 . The blank of claim 11 , wherein said knitted section has an inner surface, and wherein said plurality of second yarns are knit into said inner surface.
14 . The blank of claim 11 , wherein said edge has a first portion, a second portion opposite said first portion, and an intermediate portion between said first portion and said second portion, wherein said first portion is made from said plurality of second yarns.
15 . The blank of claim 14 , wherein said first portion and said second portion are made from said plurality of second yarns.
16 . The blank of claim 15 , wherein said second portion is made from said plurality of second yarns.
17 . The blank of claim 15 , wherein said intermediate portion is made from said plurality of second yarns.
18 . The blank of claim 11 , wherein said plurality of second yarns are a plurality of elastic yarns, and wherein said plurality of elastic yarns overlap said knitted portion at said edge.
19 . The blank of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of second yarns overlap said knitted portion above and below said knitted portion at said edge.
20 . The blank of claim 11 , wherein said plurality of first yarns are selected from the group consisting of nylon, cotton, polyester, wool, silk, a flat ground, a non-elastic having portions of elastic yarns, and any combinations thereof.
21 . The blank of claim 11 , wherein said plurality of second yarns are selected from the group consisting of spandex, a bare elasthane, a nylon elasthane combination, a polyester elasthane combination, a cotton elasthane, and any combinations thereof.
22 . The blank of claim 8 , wherein said plurality of first yarns are non-elastic yarns.
23 . A seamless blank comprising:
a knit body knit in a first knit direction and a second knit direction; and an elasticated edge knit in said first knit direction and said second knit direction, said elasticated edge terminating at a knit stitch to define a garment opening, said garment opening being curved with respect to said first and second knitting directions.
24 . The seamless blank of claim 23 , wherein said garment opening defines a garment feature selected from the group consisting of a leg hole, a neck hole, an arm hole, and a foot receiving opening.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
