Abstract
Lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole includes a tip portion, an illuminable shaft portion, and a grip portion. The tip portion has a tip end and a connecting end. The illuminable shaft portion has a first engaging end, a second engaging end that is removably coupled to the connecting end of the tip portion, and an illumination means for illuminating the illuminable shaft portion in response to provision of electrical energy thereto. The grip portion has an end that is removably coupled to the first engaging end of the illuminable shaft portion. The equipment further comprises means for selectively providing electrical energy to the illuminable shaft portion. Also disclosed is lighted sports equipment comprising a snowboard, a waterboard, and a skateboard.

a ski pole, said ski pole including a tip portion, an illuminable shaft portion, and a grip portion, wherein (i) said tip portion has a tip end and a connecting end, (ii) said illuminable shaft portion has (a) a first engaging end, (b) a second engaging end being removably coupled to said connecting end of said tip portion, and (c) an illumination means for illuminating said illuminable shaft portion in response to provision of electrical energy thereto, and (iii) said grip portion has an end being removably coupled to said first engaging end of said illuminable shaft portion; and means for selectively providing electrical energy to said illuminable shaft portion.
2 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 1 , wherein said tip portion selectively includes a basket proximate to said tip end.
3 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 1 , wherein said illuminable shaft portion has an external cross-sectional geometric shape selected from the group consisting of a circle, an ellipse, a triangle, a square, a pentagon, a hexagon, a heptagon, and an octagon.
4 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 1 , wherein said illuminable shaft portion is constructed at least in part from a translucent material.
5 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 4 , wherein said translucent material is a clear, durable material.
6 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 1 , wherein said illumination means of said illuminable shaft portion comprises at least one electro-luminescent device.
7 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 1 , wherein said means for selectively providing electrical energy to said illuminable shaft portion comprises a switch.
8 . Lighted sports equipment, comprising:
a ski pole, said ski pole including a tip portion, an illuminable shaft portion, and a grip portion, wherein (i) said tip portion has a tip end, (ii) said illuminable shaft portion has an illumination means for illuminating said illuminable shaft portion in response to provision of electrical energy thereto; and means for selectively providing electrical energy to said illuminable shaft portion.
9 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 8 , wherein said tip portion selectively includes a basket proximate to said tip end.
10 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 8 , wherein said illuminable shaft portion has an external cross-sectional geometric shape selected from the group consisting of a circle, an ellipse, a triangle, a square, a pentagon, a hexagon, a heptagon, and an octagon.
11 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 8 , wherein said illuminable shaft portion is constructed at least in part from a translucent material.
12 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 11 , wherein said translucent material said translucent material is a clear, durable material.
13 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 8 , wherein said illumination means of said illuminable shaft portion comprises at least one electro-luminescent device.
14 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a ski pole of claim 8 , wherein said means for selectively providing electrical energy to said illuminable shaft portion comprises a switch.
15 . Lighted sports equipment, comprising:
a snowboard, said snowboard including a tip portion, a waist portion, and a tail portion, wherein (i) said tip portion has a selected angle of inclination relative to said waist portion, (ii) said waist portion has a selected camber, (iii) said tail portion has a selected angle of inclination relative to said waist portion, and (iv) said tip portion, said waist portion, and said tail portion are each selectively illuminable, being responsive to at least one illumination means provided within said snowboard; and means for selectively providing electrical energy to said at least one illumination means.
16 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a snowboard of claim 15 , wherein at least one of said tip portion, waist portion, and tail portion is constructed at least in part from a translucent material.
17 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a snowboard of claim 16 , wherein said translucent material is a clear, durable material.
18 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a snowboard of claim 15 , wherein said illumination means comprises at least one electro-luminescent device.
19 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a snowboard of claim 15 , wherein said means for selectively providing electrical energy to said at least one illumination means comprises a switch.
20 . Lighted sports equipment, comprising:
a waterboard, said waterboard including a tip portion, a waist portion, and a tail portion, wherein (i) said tip portion has a selected angle of inclination relative to said waist portion, (ii) said waist portion has a selected camber, (iii) said tail portion has a selected angle of inclination relative to said waist portion, and (iv) said tip portion, said waist portion, and said tail portion are each selectively illuminable, being responsive to at least one illumination means provided within said waterboard; and means for selectively providing electrical energy to said at least one illumination means.
21 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a waterboard of claim 20 , wherein at least one of said tip portion, waist portion, and tail portion is constructed at least in part from a translucent material.
22 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a waterboard of claim 21 , wherein said translucent material is a clear, durable material.
23 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a waterboard of claim 20 , wherein said illumination means comprises at least one electro-luminescent device.
24 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a waterboard of claim 20 , wherein said means for selectively providing electrical energy to said at least one illumination means comprises a switch.
25 . Lighted sports equipment, comprising:
a skateboard, said skateboard including a tip portion, a waist portion, and a tail portion, wherein (i) said tip portion has a selected angle of inclination relative to said waist portion, (ii) said waist portion has a selected camber, (iii) said tail portion has a selected angle of inclination relative to said waist portion, and (iv) said tip portion, said waist portion, and said tail portion are each selectively illuminable, being responsive to at least one illumination means provided within said skateboard; and means for selectively providing electrical energy to said at least one illumination means.
26 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a skateboard of claim 25 , wherein at least one of said tip portion, waist portion, and tail portion is constructed at least in part from a translucent material.
27 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a skateboard of claim 26 , wherein said translucent material is a clear, durable material.
28 . The lighted sports equipment comprising a skateboard of claim 25 , wherein said illumination means comprises at least one electro-luminescent device.
