Claims
Abstract
Use of a Fischer-Tropsch derived fuel in a fuel composition, for the purpose of reducing the amount of additives, in particular antifoaming and/or dehazing additives, in the composition is disclosed. The Fischer-Tropsch fuel may be used to reduce the amount of silicon containing additives in the composition, or generally to reduce silicon levels, and in turn to reduce loss of efficiency of fuel atomization and/or combustion in a fuel consuming system which is running on the fuel composition, and/or to reduce build up of deposits, in particular silicon deposits, in such a system.

a Fischer-Tropsch derived fuel and a silicon free or substantially silicon free antifoaming additive, and optionally at least one other fuel component.
2 . The fuel composition of claim 1 wherein said composition being free of detergent additives.
3 . A fuel composition comprising:
a Fischer-Tropsch derived fuel and at least one fuel additive, and optionally at least one other fuel component, wherein the composition is free of antifoaming additives.
4 . The fuel composition of claim 3 wherein said composition is free of detergent additives.
5 . The fuel composition of claim 1 wherein the composition is free of silicon containing antifoaming additives.
6 . The fuel composition of claim 3 wherein the composition is substantially free of dehazing additives.
7 . The fuel composition of claim 5 wherein the composition is substantially free of dehazing additives.
8 . The fuel composition of claim 7 wherein the composition is free of detergent additives.
9 . The fuel composition of claim 5 wherein the composition is free of detergent additives.
10 . The fuel composition of claim 6 wherein the composition is free of detergent additives.
11 . A fuel composition comprising:
a Fischer-Tropsch derived fuel and at least one fuel additive, and optionally at least one other fuel component, wherein the composition is free of silicon containing antifoaming additives.
12 . The fuel composition of claim 11 wherein the composition is free of detergent additives.
13 . The fuel composition of claim 11 wherein the composition is substantially free of dehazing additives.
14 . The fuel composition of claim 13 wherein the composition is free of detergent additives.
15 . A fuel composition comprising:
a Fischer-Tropsch derived fuel and at least one fuel additive, and optionally at least one other fuel component, wherein the composition is substantially free of dehazing additives.
16 . The fuel composition of claim 15 whrein the composition is free of detergent additives.
17 . A fuel composition comprising:
a Fischer-Tropsch derived fuel and at least one non-detergent fuel additives, and optionally at least one other fuel component, wherein the composition is substantially free of silicon.
18 . The fuel composition of claim 17 wherein the fuel composition contains 1000 ppbw or less of silicon.
19 . The fuel composition of claim 1 wherein the antifoaming additives in the fuel composition is 300 ppmw or less.
20 . A method of operating a fuel consuming system comprising introducing into said system the fuel composition of claim 1 .
21 . A method of operating a fuel consuming system comprising introducing into said system the fuel composition of claim 3 .
22 . A method of operating a fuel consuming system comprising introducing into said system the fuel composition of claim 11 .
23 . A method of operating a fuel consuming system comprising introducing into said system the fuel composition of claim 15 .
