Abstract
Hydrophilic protein adsorption resistant coatings for microfluidic devices are provided. Additionally, microfluidic devices and methods of manufacturing microfluidic devices that include the coatings are provided.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of manufacturing a microfluidic device, the method comprising:
(a) providing a first substrate comprising a surface with microscale grooves fabricated into the surface; (b) adding a first coating subunit to the surface; and (c) adding a second coating subunit that binds to the first coating subunit.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first coating subunit is added to a first region of the surface but not to a second region of the surface, and wherein the second coating subunit is added to both the first and second regions of the surface.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first substrate comprises glass.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first coating subunit comprises a silicon-based linker arm.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the silicon-based linker arm terminates in an amine moiety.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second coating subunit is a monocarboxy poly(ethyleneglycol).
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first substrate comprises a polymeric material.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the polymeric material is polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).
9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the polymeric material is polydimethlysiloxane (PDMS).
