Coiled hose storage cabinet

Abstract

A coiled hose storage cabinet is disclosed. The storage cabinet has a back portion, side portions connected to the back portion, and a front portion hingedly connected to the back portion. The cabinet includes an interior U-shaped storage channel for receiving and storing a length of coiled hose.

1 . A storage cabinet for a coiled hose comprising: 
 an enclosure defined by a back portion, opposing side portions connected to the back portion, and a front portion operatively coupled to the back portion;    a U-shaped channel formed in at least the interior surface of the front portion to receive and hold the coiled hose;    wherein the storage cabinet is operable in a closed position in which the front portion is closed against the back and side portions, and an open position in which the front portion is rotated away from the back portion to allow release of the coiled hose.    
   
   
       2 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 wherein said front portion is mechanically connected to said back portion.    
   
   
       3 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 2 , further comprising: 
 wherein said mechanical connection comprises a hinge.    
   
   
       4 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 a latch assembly to secure the storage cabinet in the closed position.    
   
   
       5 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture through which the ends of the coiled hose may pass.    
   
   
       6 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 5 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in the opposing side portions.  
   
   
       7 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 5 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in both the opposing side portions and the front portion.  
   
   
       8 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 5 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in both the opposing side portions and the back portion.  
   
   
       9 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 1 , wherein the U-shaped channel is also formed in the front surface of the back portion.  
   
   
       10 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 1 , wherein the U-shaped channel is outlined in the front surface of the front portion.  
   
   
       11 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 attachment members adapted to hold accessories for use with the coiled hose.    
   
   
       12 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 1 , wherein the U-shaped is dimensioned to correspond to a coiled hose having an outside diameter in the range of about 0.25 inches to 1.0 inches.  
   
   
       13 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 drainage holes through the enclosure to allow drainage of water and debris.    
   
   
       14 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 1 , wherein the storage cabinet is adapted so that multiple storage cabinets can be combined together in a modular fashion.  
   
   
       15 . A storage cabinet for a coiled hose comprising: 
 an enclosure defined by a back portion, opposing side portions connected to the back portion, and a front portion coupled to the back portion;    a shaped channel formed in at least the interior surface of the front portion to receive and hold the coiled hose;    wherein the storage cabinet is operable in a closed position in which the front portion is closed against the back and side portions, and an open position in which the front portion is rotated away from the back portion to allow release of the coiled hose; and    a handle mechanically coupled to an upper portion of said storage cabinet which is operable in two modes of operation:    (1) a retracted mode of operation in which said handle mechanism is generally secured within said storage cabinet; and    (2) a carry mode of operation in which said handle mechanism is extended outward from said storage cabinet to facilitate transport of said storage cabinet.    
   
   
       16 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 15 , further comprising: 
 wherein said handle mechanism is formed at least in part of a flexible rope which extends between said opposing side portions.    
   
   
       17 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 15 , further comprising: 
 wherein said handle is formed of a relatively rigid and shaped material which is mechanically coupled to said opposing side portions.    
   
   
       18 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 15 , further comprising: 
 a latch assembly to secure the storage cabinet in the closed position.    
   
   
       19 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 15 , further comprising: 
 an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture through which the ends of the coiled hose may pass.    
   
   
       20 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 19 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in the opposing side portions.  
   
   
       21 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 19 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in both the opposing side portions and the front portion.  
   
   
       22 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 19 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in both the opposing side portions and the back portion.  
   
   
       23 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 19 , wherein the U-shaped channel is also formed in the front surface of the back portion.  
   
   
       24 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 19 , wherein the shaped channel is outlined in the front surface of the front portion.  
   
   
       25 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 19 , further comprising: 
 attachment members adapted to hold accessories for use with the coiled hose.    
   
   
       26 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 19 , wherein the shaped channel is dimensioned to correspond to a coiled hose having an outside diameter in the range of about 0.25 inches to 1.0 inches.  
   
   
       27 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 19 , further comprising: 
 drainage holes through the enclosure to allow drainage of water and debris.    
   
   
       28 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 19 , wherein the storage cabinet is adapted so that multiple storage cabinets can be combined together.  
   
   
       29 . A storage cabinet for a coiled hose comprising: 
 an enclosure defined by a back portion, opposing side portions connected to the back portion, and a front portion connected to the back portion;    a channel formed in at least the interior surface of the front portion to receive and hold the coiled hose;    wherein the storage cabinet is operable in a closed position in which the front portion is closed against the back and side portions, and an open position in which the front portion is rotated away from the back portion to allow release of the coiled hose;    hanging holes formed in said back portion;    mounting brackets adapted to mate with said hanging holes to facilitate connection to another object.    
   
   
       30 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 29 , further comprising: 
 wherein said mounting brackets operate for hanging the storage cabinet on a wall.    
   
   
       31 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 29 , further comprising: 
 wherein said mounting brackets operate for hanging said storage cabinet to a piece of yard equipment.    
   
   
       32 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 29 , further comprising: 
 a latch assembly to secure the storage cabinet in the closed position.    
   
   
       33 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 29 , further comprising: 
 an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture through which the ends of the coiled hose may pass.    
   
   
       34 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 33 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in the opposing side portions.  
   
   
       35 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 33 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in both the opposing side portions and the front portion.  
   
   
       36 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 33 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in both the opposing side portions and the back portion.  
   
   
       37 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 29 , wherein the channel is also formed in the front surface of the back portion.  
   
   
       38 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 29 , wherein the channel is outlined in the front surface of the front portion.  
   
   
       39 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 29 , further comprising: 
 attachment members adapted to hold accessories for use with the coiled hose.    
   
   
       40 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 29 , wherein the channel is dimensioned to correspond to a coiled hose having an outside diameter in the range of about 0.25 inches to 1.0 inches.  
   
   
       41 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 29 , further comprising: 
 drainage holes through the enclosure to allow drainage of water and debris.    
   
   
       42 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 29 , wherein the storage cabinet is adapted so that multiple storage cabinets can be combined together in a modular  
   
   
       43 . A storage cabinet for a coiled hose comprising: 
 an enclosure defined by a back portion, opposing side portions connected to the back portion, and a front portion connected to the back portion;    an I-shaped channel formed in at least the interior surface of the front portion to receive and hold the coiled hose;    wherein the storage cabinet is operable in a closed position in which the front portion is closed against the back and side portions, and an open position in which the front portion is rotated away from the back portion to allow release of the coiled hose.    
   
   
       44 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 43 , further comprising: 
 a hanging means for hanging the storage cabinet on a wall.    
   
   
       45 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 43 , further comprising: 
 a handle for carrying the storage cabinet manually.    
   
   
       46 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 43 , further comprising: 
 a latch assembly to secure the storage cabinet in the closed position.    
   
   
       47 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 43 , further comprising: 
 an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture through which the ends of the coiled hose may pass.    
   
   
       48 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 47 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in the opposing side portions.  
   
   
       49 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 47 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in both the opposing side portions and the front portion.  
   
   
       50 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 47 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in both the opposing side portions and the back portion.  
   
   
       51 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 43 , wherein the I-shaped channel is also formed in the front surface of the back portion.  
   
   
       52 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 43 , wherein the I-shaped channel is outlined in the front surface of the front portion.

 attachment members adapted to hold accessories for use with the coiled hose.    
   
   
       54 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 43 , wherein the I-shaped is dimensioned to correspond to a coiled hose having an outside diameter in the range of about 0.25 inches to 1.0 inches.  
   
   
       55 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 43 , further comprising: 
 drainage holes through the enclosure to allow drainage of water and debris.    
   
   
       56 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 43 , wherein the storage cabinet is adapted so that multiple storage cabinets can be combined together in a modular  
   
   
       57 . A storage cabinet for a coiled hose comprising: 
 an enclosure defined by a back portion, opposing side portions connected to the back portion, and a front portion connected to the back portion;    a shaped channel formed in at least the interior surface of the front portion to receive and hold the coiled hose;    wherein the storage cabinet is operable in a closed position in which the front portion is closed against the back and side portions, and an open position in which the front portion is rotated away from the back portion to allow release of the coiled hose;    a combination hinge and brace assembly which permits said front portion to be separated from said back portion and which maintains said front and back portions in a generally perpendicular to one another when opened.    
   
   
       58 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 57 , further comprising: 
 wherein said combination hinge and brace assembly, when opened, forms a triangular brace with said front and back portions.    
   
   
       59 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 57 , further comprising: 
 a handle for carrying the storage cabinet manually.    
   
   
       60 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 57 , further comprising: 
 a latch assembly to secure the storage cabinet in the closed position.    
   
   
       61 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 57 , further comprising: 
 an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture through which the ends of the coiled hose may pass.    
   
   
       62 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 61 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in the opposing side portions.  
   
   
       63 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 61 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in both the opposing side portions and the front portion.  
   
   
       64 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 61 , wherein the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture are formed in both the opposing side portions and the back portion.  
   
   
       65 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 57 , wherein the U-shaped channel is also formed in the front surface of the back portion.  
   
   
       66 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 57 , wherein the U-shaped channel is outlined in the front surface of the front portion.

       71 . A storage cabinet for a coiled hose comprising: 
 an enclosure defined by a back portion, opposing side portions connected to the back portion, and a front portion hingedly connected to the back portion;    a shaped channel formed in at least the interior surface of the front portion to receive and hold the coiled hose;    wherein the storage cabinet is operable in a closed position in which the front portion is closed against the back and side portions, and an open position in which the front portion is rotated away from the back portion to allow release of the coiled hose; and    wherein said front portion and said back portion collectively define an integral storage space within said storage cabinet which is adapted in size and shape to receive and secure at least one of the following coiled hose attachments: 
 (1) a watering nozzle; and  
 (2) a jetting nozzle.  
   
   
   
       72 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 71 , further comprising: 
 a hanging means for hanging the storage cabinet on a wall.

 an enclosure defined by a back portion, opposing side portions connected to the back portion, and a front portion hingedly connected to the back portion;    a-shaped channel formed in at least the interior surface of the front portion to receive and hold the coiled hose;    wherein the storage cabinet is operable in a closed position in which the front portion is closed against the back and side portions, and an open position in which the front portion is rotated away from the back portion to allow release of the coiled hose; and    a bottom surface defined by at least one of said front and back portions;    a plurality of leg members which extend outward from said bottom surface to facilitate placement maintenance of said storage cabinet on a generally planar surface when in a closed position.

 wherein said plurality of leg members are integrally formed into said storage cabinet.

 an enclosure defined by a back portion, opposing side portions connected to the back portion, and a front portion hingedly connected to the back portion;    a shaped channel formed in at least the interior surface of the front portion to receive and hold the coiled hose;    wherein the storage cabinet is operable in a closed position in which the front portion is closed against the back and side portions, and an open position in which the front portion is rotated away from the back portion to allow release of the coiled hose; and;    a water faucet opening formed in the back portion of said storage cabinet adapted to permit entry of a water faucet hose bib into a space defined at least in part within said storage cabinet, which effectively conceals said water faucet hose bib.    
   
   
       100 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 99 , further comprising: 
 a hanging means for hanging the storage cabinet on a wall.

 a handle for carrying the storage cabinet manually.

       113 . A storage cabinet for a coiled hose comprising: 
 an enclosure defined by a back portion, opposing side portions connected to the back portion, and a front portion operatively coupled to the back portion;    a cavity disposed within said storage cabinet adapted in size and shape to receive and hold the coiled hose;    at least one connector coupled to said storage cabinet proximate said cavity;    wherein the storage cabinet is operable in a closed position in which the front portion is closed against the back and side portions and said at least one connector secures said coiled hose into a predetermined position, and an open position in which the front portion is rotated away from the back portion to allow release of the coiled hose.    
   
   
       114 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 113 , further comprising: 
 wherein said front portion is mechanically connected to said back portion.    
   
   
       115 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 114 , further comprising: 
 wherein said mechanical connection comprises a hinge.    
   
   
       116 . The storage cabinet according to  claim 113 , further comprising: 
 a latch assembly to secure the storage cabinet in the closed position.

 an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture through which the ends of the coiled hose may pass.
