Abstract

A ground-mountable adjustable sign/target holder for a convenient, secure temporary above-ground display of lightweight, flexible sign panels; lightweight, rigid sign panels; or two-dimensional targets. Signs/targets of various sizes can be accommodate by this sign/target holder. The sign/target holder includes a durable, portable, collapsible frame which can be installed and removed without the use of additional tools.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A sign/target holder, comprising:
a base frame configured for substantially upright positioning thereof relative to a base surface; an adjustable sign/target receiver, said sign/target receiver being mounted upon said base frame, said sign/target receiver having a primary receiver plane associated therewith, said sign/target receiver comprising: a first L-shaped member mounted relative to said base frame, said first L-shaped member being positioned in said primary receiver plane, said first L-shaped member having a first leg and a second leg, said first leg being at a substantially right angle relative to said second leg, said first leg of said first L-shaped member being mounted relative to said base frame, said second leg of said first L-shaped member extending away from said base frame, said second leg of said first L-shaped member being provided with at least one releasable attachment mechanism configured for facilitating a releasable attachment of a sign/target thereto; and a second L-shaped member mounted relative to said base frame and said first L-shaped member, said first L-shaped member being movably positioned relative to said second L-shaped member, said second L-shaped member being positioned in said primary receiver plane, said second L-shaped member having a first leg and a second leg, said first leg and said second leg thereof being at a substantially right angle relative to one another, said first leg of said second L-shaped member being mounted relative to said base frame, said second leg of said second L-shaped member extending away from said base frame, said second leg of said second L-shaped member being provided with at least one releasable attachment mechanism configured for facilitating a releasable attachment of a sign/target thereto.

2 . The sign/target holder of claim 1 , wherein said base surface is a ground surface, said base frame being one of configured for partial insertion into said ground surface and configured for surface mounting thereupon.

3 . The sign/target holder of claim 1 , therein said base frame has a primary frame plane associated therewith, said primary frame plane and said primary receiver plane being substantially coplanar.

4 . The sign/target holder of claim 1 , wherein said first L-shaped member and said second L-shaped member are one of similarly aligned and inversely aligned relative to one another.

5 . The sign/target holder of claim 1 , wherein said first L-shaped member has a first elbow, said second L-shaped member having a second elbow, said first L-shaped member and said second L-shaped member being aligned such that said first elbow and said second elbow are directed away from one another.

6 . The sign/target holder of claim 1 , wherein one said releasable attachment mechanism provided on said second leg of one of said first L-shaped member and said second L-shaped member is one of a clamp and a springed clip.

7 . The sign/target holder of claim 1 , further comprising first and second L holders mounted on said base frame, said first and second L holders each having a leg-receiving through-hole therein for receiving therethrough said first leg of said first L-shaped member and said first leg of said second L-shaped member, respectively.

8 . The sign/target holder of claim 7 , said first and second L holders each further include a fastener receiver therein, each said fastener receiver being operably located relative to a respective said leg-receiving through-hole, each said fastener receiver receiving a threaded-rod fastener therein, said threaded-rod fastener being configured for releasably retaining a respective said first leg within a related said leg-receiving through-hole.

9 . The sign/target of claim 8 , wherein at least one said threaded-rod fastener includes a knob thereon for facilitating an actuation thereof.
