Method and system for playing a blackjack game enabling bonus bets

Abstract

Computerized and gaming table versions of a blackjack game with bonus bets is provided where a player plays a one-on-one blackjack game against the dealer with the option to place bonus bets. Several bonus bets which can be placed by the player include: three-of-a-kind (the player's first two dealt cards and the dealer's up card are taken into consideration); the player's first two dealt cards are red; the player's first two dealt cards are black; the player's first two dealt cards and the dealer's up card are red; the player's first two dealt cards and the dealer's up card are black; the value of the player's first two dealt cards is less than 13 points; and the value of the player's first two dealt cards (the player can bet on the value being 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 or 21 (blackjack)).

1 . A method of playing a card game, comprising the steps of: 
 displaying two cards to a player to form a two-card hand;    resolving said two-card hand in accordance with predetermined rules; and    continuing with a blackjack game.    
   
   
       2 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising, prior to said displaying step, receiving at least a two-card hand wager from said player.  
   
   
       3 . The method according to  claim 2 , wherein said resolving step is practiced by paying a payout based on the two-card hand wager if the player's two dealt cards provide a winning two-card hand in accordance with the predetermined rules.  
   
   
       4 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising, prior to said displaying step, receiving zero or at least one non-blackjack bet from said player.  
   
   
       5 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising, prior to said displaying step, receiving at least one blackjack bet from said player.  
   
   
       6 . The method according to  claim 4 , wherein said at least one non-blackjack bet is selected from the group consisting of said two-card hand being a pair, said two-card hand comprising two red cards, said two-card hand comprising two black cards, said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value less than a predetermined number, said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value greater than a predetermined number, and said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value equal to a predetermined number.  
   
   
       7 . The method according to  claim 6 , wherein the resolving step comprises the step of applying the predetermined rules to the at least one non-blackjack bet to determine whether the player is a winner.  
   
   
       8 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said game is played on a gaming table having a first predefined area for receiving zero or at least one non-blackjack bet and a second predefined area for receiving a blackjack bet.  
   
   
       9 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said game is played over a network.  
   
   
       10 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said game is played via a casino-type gaming machine.  
   
   
       11 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said game is played via a lottery-card having at least one scratch-off area for displaying said two-card hand.  
   
   
       12 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said game is configured as a set of programmable instructions capable of being executed by at least one processor.  
   
   
       13 . The method according to  claim 12 , wherein the set of programmable instructions are stored on a computer-readable medium.  
   
   
       14 . A gaming system for playing a card game comprising: 
 means for displaying two cards to a player to form a two-card hand;    means for resolving said two-card hand in accordance with predetermined rules; and    means for continuing with a blackjack game.    
   
   
       15 . The gaming system according to  claim 14 , further comprising means for receiving at least a two-card hand wager from said player.  
   
   
       16 . The gaming system according to  claim 15 , further comprising means for paying a payout based on the two-card hand wager if the player's two dealt cards provide a winning two-card hand in accordance with the predetermined rules.  
   
   
       17 . The gaming system according to  claim 14 , further comprising means for receiving zero or at least one non-blackjack bet from said player.  
   
   
       18 . The gaming system according to  claim 14 , further comprising means for receiving at least one blackjack bet from said player.  
   
   
       19 . The gaming system according to  claim 17 , wherein said at least one non-blackjack bet is selected from the group consisting of said two-card hand being a pair, said two-card hand comprising two red cards, said two-card hand comprising two black cards, said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value less than a predetermined number, said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value greater than a predetermined number, and said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value equal to a predetermined number.  
   
   
       20 . The gaming system according to  claim 19 , wherein the means for resolving comprises means for applying the predetermined rules to the at least one non-blackjack bet to determine whether the player is a winner.  
   
   
       21 . The gaming system according to  claim 14 , further comprising a gaming table having a first predefined area for receiving zero or at least one non-blackjack bet and a second predefined area for receiving a blackjack bet.  
   
   
       22 . A computer-readable medium storing a set of programmable instructions capable of being executed by at least one processor for playing a game comprising the steps of: 
 displaying two cards to a player to form a two-card hand;    resolving said two-card hand in accordance with predetermined rules; and    continuing with a blackjack game.    
   
   
       23 . A method of playing a first and a second card game, comprising the steps of: 
 playing the first card game comprising the steps of: 
 dealing two cards to a player to form a two-card hand;  
 resolving said two-card hand in accordance with a first set of predetermined rules; and  
   playing the second card game comprising the step of: 
 resolving at least one card of the two dealt cards in accordance with a second set of predetermined rules.  
   
   
   
       24 . The method according to  claim 23 , wherein the second set of predetermined rules are blackjack rules.  
   
   
       25 . The method according to  claim 23 , further comprising, prior to said dealing step, receiving at least a wager from said player with respect to said first game.  
   
   
       26 . The method according to  claim 25 , wherein said first resolving step is practiced by paying a payout based on the wager if the player's two dealt cards provide a winning two-card hand in accordance with the first set of predetermined rules.  
   
   
       27 . The method according to  claim 23 , further comprising, prior to said dealing, receiving zero or at least one bet with respect to said first game from said player.  
   
   
       28 . The method according to  claim 23 , further comprising, prior to said dealing step, receiving at least one bet with respect to said first game from said player.  
   
   
       29 . The method according to  claim 28 , wherein said at least one bet is selected from the group consisting of said two-card hand being a pair, said two-card hand comprising two red cards, said two-card hand comprising two black cards, said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value less than a predetermined number, said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value greater than a predetermined number, and said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value equal to a predetermined number.  
   
   
       30 . The method according to  claim 29 , wherein the resolving step comprises the step of applying the first set of predetermined rules to the at least one bet to determine whether the player is a winner.  
   
   
       31 . The method according to  claim 23 , wherein each of said first and said second card game is configured as a set of programmable instructions capable of being executed by at least one processor.  
   
   
       32 . The method according to  claim 31 , wherein the set of programmable instructions are stored on a computer-readable medium.  
   
   
       33 . A gaming system for playing a first and a second card game comprising: 
 means for playing the first card game comprising: 
 means for dealing two cards to a player to form a two-card hand;  
 means for resolving said two-card hand in accordance with a first set of predetermined rules; and  
   means for playing the second card game comprising: 
 means for resolving at least one card of the two dealt cards in accordance with a second set of predetermined rules.  
   
   
   
       34 . The gaming system according to  claim 33 , wherein the second set of predetermined rules are blackjack rules.  
   
   
       35 . The gaming system according to  claim 33 , further comprising means for receiving at least a wager from said player with respect to said first game.  
   
   
       36 . The gaming system according to  claim 35 , further comprising means for paying a payout based on the wager if the player's two dealt cards provide a winning two-card hand in accordance with the first set of predetermined rules.  
   
   
       37 . The gaming system according to  claim 33 , further comprising means for receiving zero or at least one bet with respect to said first game from said player.  
   
   
       38 . The gaming system according to  claim 33 , further comprising means for receiving at least one bet with respect to said first game from said player.  
   
   
       39 . The gaming system according to  claim 38 , wherein said at least one bet is selected from the group consisting of said two-card hand being a pair, said two-card hand comprising two red cards, said two-card hand comprising two black cards, said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value less than a predetermined number, said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value greater than a predetermined number, and said two-card hand comprising cards having a total value equal to a predetermined number.  
   
   
       40 . The gaming system according to  claim 39 , wherein the means for resolving comprises means for applying the first set of predetermined rules to the at least one bet to determine whether the player is a winner.  
   
   
       41 . The gaming system according to  claim 33 , further comprising a gaming table having a first predefined area for receiving zero or at least one bet with respect to said first game and a second predefined area for receiving a bet with respect to said second game.
