Method for weaving decorative ribbons with plastic cords and apparatus for same
Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for weaving decorative ribbons with plastic cords and apparatus for same, characterized in which plastic cords used as warp and threads of another material used as weft are plain woven and arranged at a preset distance from each other into a piece of cloth with a weaving machine, and one end of the cloth proximate to each woven section is cut off so that every section in a plastic woven ribbon unit has tassels on one side and the cut loose ends on the other side. Said woven ribbon is then transported via conveyor belt, and beneath the loose ends of woven ribbon in progression, there are a plurality of longitudinally arranged stoves to melt and fuse the loose ends into one body, which is then blocked by the woven section to prevent the plastic cord from being drawn out by single threads. The ribbons produced thereof may be used as decorative ribbon in a wide variety of applications and simulate hand-made straw woven umbrella or canopy. The method of the present invention offers convenient, cost-saving way of mass production and hence economic benefits.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for weaving decorative ribbon using plastic cords, featuring:
(1) using plastic cords as warp and selecting threads of appropriate material as weft to weave them using weaving machine into plastic cloth of infinite length having equidistant woven sections; (2) each woven section has cut loose ends on the same side and tassel segment on the other side to form a woven ribbon unit; and (3) the cut loose ends of said woven ribbon unit are melt and fused by flame and blocked by the woven section to keep the plastic cords from being drawn out.
2 . An apparatus for weaving decorative ribbons using plastic cords, comprising:
a woven ribbon unit consisting of woven sections interwoven with plastic cords and threads of desired material, wherein each woven section has cut loose ends on one side and tassel segment on the other side; and stoves arranged at appropriate locations beneath said cut loose ends that when the woven ribbon unit is in progression, the cut loose ends are melted and fused into one body to keep the plastic cords from separation or being drawn out.
3 . A method and an apparatus for weaving decorative ribbons using plastic cords as claimed in claim 1 , wherein at least one or more than one stoves are longitudinally arranged beneath the cut loose ends of the woven ribbon unit.
4 . A method and an apparatus for weaving decorative ribbons using plastic cords as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said plastic woven ribbon units may be stacked or lined up on the umbrella fabric and sewed onto it to form straw umbrella like structure.
5 . A method and an apparatus for weaving decorative ribbons using plastic cords as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the woven section of said plastic woven ribbon unit may be used in all kinds of purses, clothing, Christmas ornaments, canopy and a wide variety of applications as decorative ribbon.
6 . A method and an apparatus for weaving decorative ribbons using plastic cords as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said plastic woven ribbon unit may be cut to the desired width.
7 . A method and an apparatus for weaving decorative ribbons using plastic cords as claimed in claim 2 , wherein at least one or more than one stoves are longitudinally arranged beneath the cut loose ends of the woven ribbon unit.
8 . A method and an apparatus for weaving decorative ribbons using plastic cords as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said plastic woven ribbon units may be stacked or lined up on the umbrella fabric and sewed onto it to form straw umbrella like structure.
9 . A method and an apparatus for weaving decorative ribbons using plastic cords as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the woven section of said plastic woven ribbon unit may be used in all kinds of purses, clothing, Christmas ornaments, canopy and a wide variety of applications as decorative ribbon.
10 . A method and an apparatus for weaving decorative ribbons using plastic cords as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said plastic woven ribbon unit may be cut to the desired width.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
