Abstract
A method and apparatus for a quick wash cycle include spinning a basket of a washing machine, pausing the spinning of the basket, and spraying water while the basket is paused.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of rinsing a textile wash load in a washing apparatus comprising the steps of:
spinning a basket of the washing apparatus with a motor during a predefined rinse cycle, wherein the basket is configured to hold textiles; pausing the spinning of the basket during the predefined rinse cycle; resuming the spinning of the basket during the predefined rinse cycle.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the pausing step further comprises activating a spray mechanism.
3 . The method of claim 2 wherein the step of pausing the spinning of the basket further comprises utilizing a brake to pause the spinning of the basket.
4 . The method of claim 1 wherein the step of resuming the spinning of the basket further comprises activating a spray mechanism.
5 . The method of claim 4 wherein the step of resuming the spinning of the basket further comprises utilizing a clutch to resume the spinning of the basket.
6 . The method of claim 1 wherein the step of pausing includes disengaging the motor from spinning of the basket and applying a brake to the spinning basket.
7 . A textile rinse system comprising:
a textile basket, wherein the interior of the basket is adapted to receive textiles; a motor operatively connected to the basket to provide the capability for spinning of the basket; a spray mechanism positionally located to spray water on the textiles located in the interior of the basket; and a controller operatively connected to the motor and operatively connected to the spraying mechanism so that the controller pauses the basket from substantially spinning and is adapted for starting spinning of the basket after a pause.
8 . The system of claim 7 wherein the controller further comprises cams, wherein the cams assist in the timing of the spinning of the basket in relation to the spraying of the textiles.
9 . The system of claim 8 wherein the system further comprises a brake wherein the brake assists in pausing the spinning of the basket.
10 . The system of claim 9 wherein the timing of the spraying of the textiles is when the controller pauses the basket.
11 . The system of claim 8 wherein the system further comprises a clutch wherein the clutch assists in starting the spinning of the basket.
12 . The system of claim 11 wherein the timing of the spraying of the textiles is when the controller starts the spinning of the basket after the pause.
13 . A control mechanism for a washing apparatus, the washing apparatus the kind having a basket and a spray mechanism, comprising:
a motor, wherein the motor is operatively connected to the basket for spinning the basket; a brake, wherein the brake is operatively connected to the basket as to assist in stopping the spinning of the basket; a controller, wherein the controller is operatively connected to the motor, spray mechanism and brake, and wherein the controller pauses the basket and activates the spray mechanism in a substantially simultaneous action.
14 . The control mechanism of claim 13 wherein the controller resumes the spinning of the basket while maintaining the spray mechanism in an activated state.
15 . A method for reducing wash cycle time in a washing apparatus, comprising:
spinning a basket containing laundry items after a fill and agitate cycle; pausing the spinning of the basket by disengaging a motor drive and braking; activating a spraying mechanism to apply rinse water to the laundry items during the pausing; and resuming spinning of the basket.
16 . The method of claim 15 further comprising keeping the spraying mechanism activated during the initial portion of the step of resuming spinning of the basket.
17 . The method of claim 16 further comprising deactivating the spray mechanism and continuing spinning of the basket.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
