Sheet transporting device and image forming apparatus and assembling method for image forming apparatus

Abstract

A sheet transporting device includes an enclosure having a first guide part at least a part of which can be exposed to outside, wherein another sheet transporting device is attached to the enclosure, the another sheet transporting device has a second guide part at least a part of which is exposed to outside, and at least a part of a sheet transporting passage includes the first guide part and the second guide part. An image forming apparatus includes an enclosure including a first guide part at least a part of which can be exposed to outside, wherein a sheet transporting device is attached to the enclosure, the sheet transporting device includes a second guide part at least a part of which is exposed to outside, and at least a part of a sheet transporting passage includes the first guide part and the second guide part.

1 . A sheet transporting device comprising: 
 an enclosure that includes a first guide part at least a part of which can be exposed to outside,    another sheet transporting device that includes a second guide part at least a part of which is exposed to outside, and    at least a part of a sheet transporting passage that includes the first guide part and the second guide part, wherein the another sheet transporting device is attached to the enclosure.    
   
   
       2 . A sheet transporting device comprising: 
 a first guide part at least a part of which can be exposed to outside, and    a second guide part at least a part of which is exposed to outside and which is provided in an enclosure to be attached, wherein at least a part of a sheet transporting passage includes the first guide part and the second guide part.    
   
   
       3 . A sheet transporting device comprising: 
 an enclosure that includes a first guide part at least a part of which can be exposed to outside; and    another sheet transporting device to be attached to the enclosure,    wherein the another sheet transporting device includes a second guide part at least a part of which is exposed to outside, and at least a part of a sheet transporting passage includes the first guide part and the second guide part.    
   
   
       4 . The sheet transporting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the another sheet transporting device is a two-sided unit which reverses a sheet.  
   
   
       5 . The sheet transporting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the another sheet transporting device is a sheet supply unit which supplies a sheet.  
   
   
       6 . The sheet transporting device according to  claim 1 , wherein the another sheet transporting device includes a sheet guide unit which guides a sheet from the enclosure.  
   
   
       7 . An image forming apparatus comprising: 
 an enclosure that includes a first guide part at least a part of which can be exposed to outside,    a sheet transporting device that includes a second guide part at least a part of which is exposed to outside, and    at least a part of a sheet transporting passage includes the first guide part and the second guide part,    wherein the sheet transporting device is attached to the enclosure.    
   
   
       8 . An image forming apparatus comprising: 
 an enclosure that includes a first guide part at least a part of which can be exposed to outside; and    a sheet transporting device to be attached to the enclosure,    wherein the sheet transporting device includes a second guide part at least a part of which is exposed to outside, and at least a part of a sheet transporting passage includes the first guide part and the second guide part.    
   
   
       9 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 7 , wherein the enclosure houses at least a fixing device which fixes a toner image to a sheet.  
   
   
       10 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 9 , wherein the enclosure further includes a sheet ejection unit, the sheet transporting device further includes a sheet reversal ejection unit which reverses and ejects the sheet, and the sheet reversal ejection unit is more distant from the fixing device than the sheet ejection unit.  
   
   
       11 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 10 , wherein the sheet reversal ejection unit holds the sheet at pressure higher than the sheet ejection unit.  
   
   
       12 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 7 , wherein the sheet transporting device includes a sheet guide unit which guides the sheet from the enclosure.  
   
   
       13 . An assembling method of attaching a two-sided unit to a fixing unit at an upper part of an image forming apparatus main body, the assembling method comprising: 
 removing a cover from the image forming apparatus main body; and    attaching the two-sided unit to the image forming apparatus main body,    wherein an outer guide of the fixing unit is disposed between an inside guide provided in the two-sided unit and an upper inside guide, and a reversal transport passage is constructed.    
   
   
       14 . An image forming apparatus comprising: 
 an enclosure that includes a first guide part at least a part of which can be exposed to outside and which guides a sheet,    a cover part that covers an exposed portion of the enclosure, and    a sheet transporting device that includes a second guide part at least a part of which is exposed to outside and which guides the sheet, in which at least a part of a sheet transport passage includes the first guide part and the second guide part, and the sheet transporting device is attached to the portion where the cover part is removed.    
   
   
       15 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein the portion where the part is exposed to the outside of the enclosure is a vicinity of a fixing device.  
   
   
       16 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 15 , wherein the first guide part is an outside guide part of a fixing unit.  
   
   
       17 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 16 , wherein the second guide part is an inside guide provided in the two-sided unit, the outside guide part of the fixing unit and the inside guide pinch the sheet and construct a part of a reversal transport passage of the sheet.  
   
   
       18 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein a sheet supply cassette which stores sheets is provided at a lower part of the enclosure, and a transport passage which supplies the sheet from the sheet supply cassette to the fixing device is provided.  
   
   
       19 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 18 , wherein the fixing device is provided at an upper part of the enclosure, and a branch which reverses the sheet is provided at a part of the transport passage, and communicates with the part of the reversal transport passage.
