Absence indication for a sporting good

Abstract

The inventive subject matter is directed toward an absence indication system for a sporting good such as a golf club stored in a sleeve in a golf bag. As the golf club is removed, an upwardly biased mechanism is actuated thereby causing a visual indicator to be raised.

1 . An absence indication system for a sporting good stored in a sleeve, comprising: 
 an upwardly biased mechanism that is actuated during removal of the sporting good.    
   
   
       2 . The absence indication system of  claim 1 , wherein the upwardly biased mechanism is coupled to a visual indicator.  
   
   
       3 . The absence indication system of  claim 2 , wherein the visual indicator is a flag.  
   
   
       4 . The absence indication system of  claim 2 , wherein the visual indicator is the sleeve.  
   
   
       5 . The absence indication system of  claim 1 , wherein the upwardly biased mechanism comprises a spring.  
   
   
       6 . The absence indication system of  claim 5 , wherein the spring is compressed by a weight of the sporting good.  
   
   
       7 . The absence indication system of  claim 1 , wherein the sporting good is a golf club.  
   
   
       8 . The absence indication system of  claim 6 , wherein the sporting good is a tennis racket.  
   
   
       9 . A method of detecting the absence of a sporting good from a bag, comprising: 
 providing an upwardly biased mechanism in mechanical relationship with an absence indicator;    actuating the upwardly biased mechanism as a function of removal of the sporting good; and    raising the absence indicator.    
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the step of actuating further comprises disengaging a holding element.
